New Eureka tonight(07/29)

I remember enjoying the first season, completely missed the second one, and here we are again. Anyone else gonna watch?

Favorite moment on the show - home controlling computer goes crazy, pizza guy comes by to deliver pizza and gets vaporized by a laser. The kicker - it was his first and only appearance and he was wearing a red shirt.

I’m stoked. I’m really glad Sci-Fi decided to keep the show instead of dumping it after a season. It’s not the best acted or written show ever (the show plots got real formulaic in the second season), but the premise and characters are wonderfully done. It’s just fun to watch.

Sadly, I gave up cable, so I won’t be able to watch it as it airs. Hulu has the last five episodes of season 2, though, so hopefully it’ll keep up to date.

I’ve heard about the show, never watched it until this weekend. Today the DVR is chugging away, recording all of season 2, prior to watching the new epi tonight.

I enjoy the rapport between Jack and Zoe - the tattoo scene from season 2 (episode about the plagues) had both TheKid and I cracking up.

I know I’m out of the loop regarding Henry and his deceased wife - there’s been flashbacks and stuff that I’m not getting.

HUGE FUCKING SPOILER AHEAD!!!

Don’t read unless you really want to catch up on your own, which I recomend you do because the episodes that deal with this are some of the best, IMO:
Henry’s wife was the lead researcher on “The Artifact,” which is (was) some sort of crystalline, energy-producing thing that was stored below Global Dynamics. There was an accident during a test, and she died. However, about a decade into the future, Henry used the artifact to go back in time and safe his wife. In this future, Carter was married to…umm…that woman with the autistic son, the son just graduated HS as valedictorian, and everything was going perfectly…until shit started to go wrong (ie, the universe was unraveling. Long story short, Carter went back in time to stop Henry from saving his wife so the timeline could be restored. He succeeds, and time goes on from that point forward for both of them, rather then them being thrown back to a different future. They still have eight years worth of fake memories, though, and it starts to affect their daily lives, since Carter thinks he should end up with Allison, but she starts to get closer with her ex husband instead. Eventually, Henry builds a device that will wipe he and Carter’s memories of the events that won’t happen, so they won’t be plagued by “what might have been.” But Henry uses it on Carter and then destroys it without ever using it on himself.

I’ve missed some stuff since then, but it turns out that killing Kim was part of some secret plot, and the town psychiatrist lady (Beverly?) was part of it.
I’m excited about the new season. I’ve really loved the marathon they ran over the weekend.

Yay! I love this show! I’ve been reliving the last parts of season two thanks to the marathon as well and I’m looking forward to this new season.

I gotta say I love the animosity/friendship thing going on with Stark and Carter, both characters are a lot of fun to watch and their scenes together are always interesting.

But who should get Allison? Argh!

Found this over at the sci-fi website:

Me.

I can’t remember what happened at the end of last season, but I’ll be watching.

I’m a bit hazy on that, too, but fortunately the Sci-Fi Channel will air last season’s finale tonight at 8:00 (Eastern), immediately before this season’s premiere episode (9:00 Eastern).

I’ve been looking forward to this all summer. I love the whole sci-fi meets Mayberry feel. I wish they would do some more Mayberry type standalone plots and get a little away from these long complicated story arcs. I don’t do well with long story arcs.

I like the characters, and one of my co-workers looks just like Fargo, so that’s fun. But the bad science gives me a headache, and in every show there’s something that makes me really hate the show’s fictional version of the U.S. government. (E.g., they’ve apparently decided to just keep those working fusion reactors a secret and let our foreign policy continue to be dominated by a ceaseless need for oil. Assholes.)

The actors on this show genuinely like each other, and it shows in their performances. They are always a hoot at Comic-Con.

And bouv? Allison is mine, and I’m prepared to slay multitudes to prove it!

I’d just be satisfied if I could work at Cafe Diem. I don’t lust after any of the humans, I want that walk-in refrigerator!

Baker - As advanced as that kitchen is, you should be able to stand at the front of the walk-in and have it gather and deliver your groceries. And who eats fennel, anyway?

Dibs on Jo.

I guess its going to be a long season. It seems like they’ve ordered 21 episodes.

It’s going to be really long if all the episodes are anything like the opener. I’ve been looking forward to tonight for two months, and am severaly disappointed. No snap at all. And the nasty businesswoman character is one of the dullest cliches around.

Well, nothing to do but keep watching and hope they get their groove back.

But hey! You can get some free Eurekized Degree Antiperspirant ™

I love this show and liked this episode for the most part. Obviously they will find a way to get Henry out of jail. I wasn’t too keen on the super fridge. How Carpe Diem can make anything at all was better left a mystery than having a big fridge as the solution. Especially since you still have to explain how the chef is so talented, how he makes anything that requires a large prep time, and why they are only storing frozen goods. Also not so keen on the product placement. Still fun overall though.

Pretty pleased with the episode. I’m glad that Sci-Fi brought it back and hope they have many more seasons.
