Oh, yeah. I’m surprised people don’t know Hugh Laurie is British. His American accent sounds really fake. Doesn’t sound like his British accent, but is really off for an American accent.
Whenever I see him, I just see Prince George.

My friend and I watched the show. I thought it was great. But:
The beginning with the scene they snuck in where Tess broke up with Carter. I think they were trying to do something to sneak in the Carter/Allison romance, but when they brought Tess back they couldn’t think of anything else. Neither one of us remember seeing that scene anywhere else.
The whole bringing the 40’s scientist back which alters the timeline thingie. At the end of the show we see how characters’ lives are affected by the change. This being Eureka, they will come to realize that they need to do whatever they can to restore the timeline (like they did when they killed Henry’s wife again), but will they choose to do so? Based on what I saw (as in the lives that were changed by going back in time):
Carter would probably not want to fix the timeline, since he’s got Tess back in his life, but he would probably decide to do the right thing.
Allison would probably not want to change the timeline because her son is now healthy and “normal”. I don’t think she’d go with the plan.
Henry would probably not want to restore the timeline. He now has another love interest / wife, and like I said, the town voted to kill has last wife. So he figures the town owes him one.
Jo would probably want to restore the timeline, so she can go back to when Zane proposes. So she’s on board with Jack.
We saw all that in the episode.
But, as always, there is the Fargo Factor. We didn’t see how his life was affected by the timeline change.
Stay tuned.
We saw it in the previews. Fargo is the head of GD.
I was hoping SARAH would change into having Sarah Michelle Gellar’s voice.
I don’t think so. It’s the same woman he didn’t remember the name of while he was working on the car in the intro, so I figure maybe he isn’t so into her.
She is a totally new character, so I can see her actively working against the changes being put right.
I wonder what the trigger will be? Something Grant wasn’t there to do, obviously.
What was his intro by Henry? Something to the affect of “responsible for our views of 21st century physics” ? “Einstien got all the press, but this was the real genius” ??
Seperately, I’m sure the events of that night changed the overall charter with respect to security and military involvment, not to mention the life that Allison saved no doubt changed things as well.
But the guy Allison saved probably wouldn’t have been injured in the first place if Jo hadn’t time-jumped and swiped a motorcycle.
Don’t expect the Tess thing to last. The actress was signed as a ‘special guest star’ for a very limited number of episodes - and she’s already working on another show. The producers have implied in various forums that they fully intend to return to the Carter/Allison dynamic. There’s been an implication that they felt season 3.5 was off-track and the reset is an effort to correct plot points that weren’t working out.
I loved this episode. It was great to see Allison back in action doing things other than sitting (Salli Richardson-Whitfield really was pregnant during the filming of last season and almost got put on bedrest. They had to limit what she could do in her scenes.). This was a very nicely put together episode! Even the little detail of the opening music done in a 40s style was a great touch. Very nicely crafted, overall.
Show creator Jamie Paglia has commented on Twitter that the ‘Tess and Carter breakup scene’ was a bit filmed for this episode that they had to cut. So they used a small slice of it in the ‘previously on Eureka’ lead in for fun. When the DVDs come out, it will be included somehow there.
There are some big surprises coming up this season. Per a recent interview with Colin Ferguson,
Ed Quinn will be returning as Nathan Stark. No further details available.
