Even If It Is Christmas We Must Have A MMP!

Bolding mine.

I think you misspelled “much this month”. I get tired jes lissnin’ to all y’all do.

The Old Wench has always insisted I was oversocked.
At least that’s what I think she said.
I forget if I said or not but I wasn’t getting any better so I went to a Doc-in-a-Box -------- respiratory infection on top of the cold/flu/plague/whatever else I have. Antibiotics. My body is now a battleground and some day in the future Dr Liz is going to chew me out royally for not using her home number. But I know she had big family plans for the holidays and all and DiaB is just so damn handy.

Or as some would say ------ that big dirt nap.
Oh – and since I mentioned the OW ------- she didn’t get it nearly as bad as me. Her case is more just a normal cold at least as it stands. With whatever this is I ain’t placing any bets. The last time I missed an entire work week being sick was ------- never? OK – maybe once back when Nixon was in his first term but I was young and foolish then.

Eterna-Z.

It’s very long and very quiet.

Happy Heathen / de-Heathen Day to All!! I’m first. Yaay me!

Up at 6. The day is dawning absolutely clear and a cool 53F. Should be gorgeous. Caffeinating is well underway. All the rest is later; much later.

Up, caffeinating, and eating leftover pizza! Great way to start the day!

I went back to bed before 9 last night so I could read away from the TV. I finished my book just after midnight, with one pause to look for my tablet’s charger cord. It warns you when it’s down to 15% battery, then at 3%, it just turns off. Just like that! I was in the middle of a sentence!!!

I woke at 4:30, worried that we hadn’t refilled the pellet stove, but **FCD **had taken care of it, so yay! I re-crashed then re-woke a bit after 6, but I lounged in bed till almost 6:30. That’s been my day so far.

I was really surprised to get a response to an old Craigslist ad - a couple is coming over today to get the old hutch. Yay! I was looking at some pic yesterday, and its dining room set was in the pic of my 6th birthday. Since I’ll be 64 next month, that makes the hutch at least 58 years old. I hate that I’m selling it, but honestly, I don’t need it, it’s totally impractical, and sentiment doesn’t empty the baby’s room! :stuck_out_tongue: So I hope they do take it. Otherwise, we were going to donate it to Habitat to Humanity’s ReStore. At least this way, someone else is removing it from the house.

Clearage of the baby’s room shall continue today. I’m not going to try to sell the 2 stereo speakers, tho I will check to see if they’ll work with my new turntable. I could squeeze them in on either side of the piano… Mostly, tho, no real plans for the day. I’ve got a lap robe in progress and another book on my tablet waiting to be read. And I’m thinking chickie-n-dumplin’s will be a good supper.

Happy Last Day of 2017!!

Yaay Moom!! There’s almost nothing better than CLOP* for breakfast.

If the speakers are over a decade old you might be surprised at how much the speakers’ cones or foam surrounds have rotted and crumbled. Taking the decorative front off first might save you fiddling with stuff that’s just dumpster fodder. Years ago I went to quite some hassle setting up some older units that had been sitting unused for longer than we realized. When we powered them up they sounded like crap. *Then *we looked at their guts & just shook our heads. Not good. Could’ve replaced the drivers, but all new speakers were about the same price and much less effort.

  • My brothers acronym: Cold Left Over Pizza. CLOP.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 42 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 44 and possible rain this afternoon. We shall see. Plans for the day are to prep for tomorrow’s feast and deheathenate. Maybe. I don’t feel very motivated toward gettin’ gussied to go about the public, but I should. Maybe I’ll be more motivated when the caffeine kicks in. Or not. OYKW said last night he was not inclined toward deheathenization this mornin’. We shall sup upon tbone steak, baked N.O.T., bacon wrapped asparagus, Caesar sallit, and garlic cheesey bread.

OK, I need more caffeine and should feed rumbly tummy. Then, somehow I must motivate as there’s stuff to be done. Rah.

Happy Sunday/NYE Y’all!

**flyguy **- good point about the speakers - they’re probably close to 40 years old or more and they haven’t been used for at least 6 or 7 years… well, other than as plant stands.

Oh, and I nukelate my leftover pizza. Cold? I think not!

Greetings from 2018. I have some news from the future.

The bad news is the world has been taken over by talking apes.

The good news is that the orang-utan in charge has been found guilty of treason for colluding with the lemurs.

I never did trust lemurs!

But that doesn’t fit with the alphabet theme of the first 25 books.
Be careful what you post with sick-brain.

Then you’d need a nap in the middle of hearin’ what I do.

Slacker!
(Mind you I didn’t awake or outtabed until much later but still, for you, that’s like a teenager getting up at noon. :p)

Oh, the humanity! Rubbery pizza is on par with & possibly even below fresh Domino’s (but still above Poopy John’s).
I shall be breakfasting & Peepfesting today; not sure if I’m gonna wait for 4-feet, 9-inches tall, 400-pound lit PEEPS® Chick to descend around dark. May (probably) come home earlier; thinkin’ about making a big, filling dinner, which takes some time.

I have been real impressed with hearing your daily exploits. In an alternate reality I’d be a lot more like you. In fact I once was.

Happy Sunday!

It’s a cold, but N.O.S., 15 degrees outside.
I don’t have to go out so it doesn’t much matter.
I used my Plenti Points to shop online at Macy’s so I didn’t lose any points, and didn’t spend any money.

We’re both still sick.
He is worse than I am, and the poor guy had to go out and shovel the walk yesterday.
It wasn’t much to do and didn’t take him long.

I’m going back to bed.

Up, caffeinated ,and sheveled. It’s 26 degrees(Amurikin) outside. I’ll be going out to watch the Packers game.

“Leftover” pizza?:dubious:

Mooommmmm!, I don’t trust atoms. They make everything up.

Feel better, sari and Sah-son!

I use a skillet with lid, on low heat, to reheat pizza. I don’t like what nuking does to pizza crust.

Plans for today are basically deheathenate and survive the in-law visit. DH and I prefer to stay home well away from the drunks on NYE. Both of us have tomorrow off, so a lot of goofing off is projected.

Sweetie, even at my most hungriest, I couldn’t put away a 16" pizza by myself. In fact, these days, half a 12" is almost too much for a meal. So, yes, leftover. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve emptied the hutch, removed the speakers for disposal, trimmed back my spider plants, and moved a small table from the blue room to the baby’s room so I have a place for the spider plants. **FCD **helped me rehang the roman blind that used to be in that room - not sure why we took it down, but it’s back up. Waiting for the call from the folks who want the hutch.

Slowly but surely, I’m clearing the little bedroom. I’ve discovered a bunch of stains on the carpet - it’ll get cleaned after I paint. Worst case scenario - we buy an area rug to go over the carpet. But it’ll be a while till the kid is crawling… theoretically… **FCD **was walking at 8 months, daughter walked before she was a year old, so who knows?

Happy last day of 2017!

The plans for today are getting the black eyed peas vegetated and in the crock, then meeting a friend in Nashville for lunch. Tonight I’ll head up to the house party with a half a batch of turnip greens (we’re doing a sampling of black eyed peas and turnip greens after midnight. I was slated for the greens).

Afternoon all!

This whole being a stoodent thing is like being a kid, with skool holidays. Only problem is I have to entertain myself now, I can’t just whine at parents until they take me out somewhere fun. It’s too windy and soggy to just go play outside, but I don’t have much I can do inside.
To put it more succinctly; I’m booooored.

I’m debating using some of my free time in trying to learn a musical instrument- probably the violin. I did try and learn as a kid, with skool lessons, but I got put off and quit due to a) the skool scheduling them really badly (all fell over maths lessons, so I was missing loads) and b) a mother with unrealistic expectations. I hate being asked to demonstrate stuff when I can’t do it, and she’d insist on making me practice in front of her, apparently under the belief that it was encouraging me, then of course she’d be totally unimpressed, because I could basically badly play two notes.

I could practice in private now; only problem is, the neighbour does shift work, and I don’t want to be that neighbour and wake him up with vile practice noises.

The violin has to be quieter than, perhaps, a tuba or a trumpet… So there’s that.
