Yet another ham sandwich has been consumed. So tired of sandwiches. I made the bed with my new satin sheets. We shall see if I slide off or not. Am I ever going to get used to the new time? I am normally a night owl but since the time change I am ready to go to bed at dark. Seems I am not waking earlier either. Just lazy I guess.
Sick-posting which it turns out is somewhat like drunk-posting. I did VTO at work and may tomorrow yet. These chills and aches are not the thing for working around heavy machinery.
The old adage that nothing good happens after 2 AM is correct. For those night owls playing along at home, the maternal unit decided that noon on Christmas eve was a great time to have a TIA, with resultant big trucks with flashing red and white lights, as well as a trip down the road while in a gurney. Six hours in the ER, and they were giving her a room, and I headed home, only to get a call from the ER attending five miles later.
So when the phone rang at 0310. I knew that things were getting interesting. It was my mother, minus her teeth. I was informed that she was in a hospital in the big city 50 miles from here for unknown reasons, and could I call the police. Told her that I knew exactly where she was, (five miles from her home, in a observation room) and she needed to stay there. I then talked to her nurse, and calling me was an attempt to calm her down, with limited success. I foresee a long day ahead, as they try to find a rehab place for her. I strongly suspect that coming home is not in the cards, the dementia is getting real bad.
After I hung up the phone from the hospital, I heard knocking at the bedroom door. I opened the door to find the cat wanted in. At least my butt got vibrated and tenderized!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 44 Amurrkin out and rainy with a predicted high of 48 and rain for the day. ICK! I need to go to the Pubic Sto’ for some stuff and would prefer to go today as ‘tis geezer discount day. I hate goin’ out in the rain and cold however. Thus I shall debate whether or not to go today or tomorrow when the rain will be gone. I pretty much have all I need to feed folks on NYD. Eight people will be at da cave to consume comestibles that day. Methinks perhaps today would be a good day to stay inside.
{{{Alien}}} sorry about the woes with the maternal unit. It’s tough to make these decisions but what’s best for her is the priority. I trust you have POA or some such to be able to make these decisions. I’m glad that between sis and I we were able to keep our mom at home but I know that is not always the case.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, well, we shall see what happens.
I’m up too early as a puppy decided to snort in my face.
It’s a cold and dark 21 (feels like 12) degrees outside with a high of 25 predicted for the day.
Ripple doesn’t linger when he goes out to potty, and Adam no longer sits and the door and cries to be let out.
I am so grateful for indoor plumbing.
Nothing much on the agenda for today. Mostly irk, and some house cleaning.
I need to do laundry sometime soon.
Red, I have found that food is a great motivator with Ripple. He’s a little piggy when it comes to anything other than dog food.
{{{Alien}}} I’m sorry you are going through so much with your mom.
Sorry to hear the latest chapter there {{ **Alien **}}. It’s clearly past time for her to be in a facility, awful as that prospect is.
Been up since about 5:30. Day dawned more like a wet season day, pretty puffy clouds and a bit of comfy humidity in the air. Coffee’s been drunk, administrivia is done, and breakfast is next. Today *shall *be more ambitious & effective than yesterday. Sad to say, it almost can’t not.
I decided to forego the Pubic Sto’. It’s just ick out! Instead I have done some laundry and ironed some shirts so I have been productive. I have nice, ironed shirts hangin’ in the closet just waitin’ to be worn. Just not today. Today is inside in sweatpants, socks, and tshirt along with my wunnerful terrycloth robe. I lurves my robe!
Blurf Late to irk today. I shall have to make up the time sometime in the next week and a half. Crappy way to start off the day. But my satin sheets did not slide me off the bed so there is that. In fact that is probably why I was late getting us this am.
No news to report. All youse with cold weather I feel sorry for you. We have the air conditioner on here.
It’s 43 and very foggy. It’s hard to see across the street.
I see the doctor this afternoon for my first official surgery recheck. Tomorrow, we head home. We’re planning second-Christmas to celebrate with my husband. We’ll decorate lightly.
It has warmed up to 14F. Rah. Lunch today is sallit and roated turkey, courtesy of the horsepital cafe. Tonight is mac 'n cheese with riced cauliflower (I like to disguise my veggies) and ham.
