gotti the instructions said OYKW could have lime and orange Jell-O. I was all :dubious: about the orange part but JDD told me the last time he had one he ate orange Jell-O, so I guess it’s ok. The instructions did say explicitly as in BIG BOLD LETTERS no cherry or strawberry gelatin. So, we have both lime and orange Jell-O and homemade chikin broth which the instructions say is ok.
JDD Brother is still in the horsepistol. He’s gettin’ a buncha bloodwork and stuff done. Ummm… not to talk mean about the sick, but I’m glad he’s there cause his house is a filth hole but he won’t let anybody clean up. I have the feelin’ family will need to take legal actions soon. It’ll be like live soap opera.
Have you thought about a goat? We have a pygmy goat that lives with our horses, and they genuinely seem to all like each other. She eats out of their hay piles, and is pretty maintenance free aside from the occasional hoof trim. That way your not feeding another horse, I know how expensive that is!
Ninja_Lauren - My neighbor raises fainting goats, and they’re very cute. I’m just afraid it would be hard to keep on contained. Another neighbor has brush goats and they’re constantly escaping, the whole herd. Minis cost next to nothing to feed (compared to the TB and the Trakehner), but the farrier charges just the same to trim them (and earns every penny) and the vet costs are the same for shots, dental, etc. A boarding barn I know has offered me my choice of a free hackney pony or a free mini, and I might take one. Because I need a pet for my horse’s pet like I need a hole in my head. (I originally got Peanut to be a companion for Irish the TB, then I got Nakota, the Trak.)
{{{Annie}}} I’m so sorry for hubby’s news. FWIW, y’all are in my thoughts and prayers. Let us know how things are going, ok?
I went to visit JDD Bro a little while ago. I wanted to make sure he looks presentable because his folks are comin’ down in a little while to visit. Glad I did cause somebody needed to make sure his bed linens had gotten changed and he had a clean hospital gown. :dubious: I mean, I helped him get himself presentable but geez hospital, are clean linens and gowns too much trouble! Ok, I was nice about it but I did state that I did not want to see this again. Yeah, I know, but somebody needs to raise a stink about stuff like that. I’ll tell JDD about it cause I feel like he should know so he can watch also. It looks like Bro will be there for a few days yet. Meanwhile I have been informed that the house is bein’ cleaned up whether Bro wants it or not. JDD, his folks and the sis are makin’ sure of it. So yay for that.
The drama continues. Like drips through an IV, so are the days of our lives.
We took an “up north” trip Sun-Mon so I’m catching up today. We timed it perfectly and the leaves were gorgeous on Sunday, plus we had mid-60s weather and sunshine. It was great. Now it’s 75 here and I feel the need to go biking! Later y’all!
Culinary Boy’s GI Bill money is taking a brief vacation in the Land of Wind and Ghosts, so supper tonight is “Stare at the fridge and get creative.” The beef tips that were going to be stew are now going to be something stroganoff-y. Culinary Boy is very handy to have around.
I finally came down with a case of stop talking and start doing–I sent off a volunteer application to the Thomas Wolfe Memorial last night. We’ll see how that goes.
A Beavis and Butthead reference. You’ll fit right in here Colophon!
So, OYKW has started drinkin’ the ick stuff to start the great clean out. I have also been to visit JDD Bro who is in better spirits. This means he ratcheted up the bitchin’ about wantin’ to go home. Always a good sign IMO.
I have also had nuttin’ to eat this evenin’ but Jell-O and chicken broth. This show of solidarity stuff ain’t what it’s cracked up to be.
Yeah, yeah, I know I don’t have to do it but I’m just bein’ nice cause that’s what I am. I’m the good bear.
