…and used the search feature to see what he or she might have written, so that you can get an idea of their personality?
I haven’t, since I’m in a very satisfactory relationship, but it just occurred to me that most people on this MB are very honest in telling about themselves, and that this might be a way to find out a person’s feelings to see if one might be compatible.
I have not done this, but I would, if the opertunity came up. Although, it wouldn’t an interested “in that kind of way” thing, since I, too, and very happily involved with the worlds greatest guy
But I do look at stuff like that, webpages, profile, etc, when someone says something interesting, and I just get curious.
Well, I started to, but I broke myself of that. On another message board? Yeah, I’ve done it.
Don’t want to talk about it though. Really. Cause you never know when they could show up here. And I’m still in the throes of the crush.
Of course I have. Isn’t that what the search by username function is for?
I’m completely unashamed of my “cyber-stalker” tendencies. That’s a really bad name for it though, conjuring up images that are not at all correct.
I’ve searched for posts on this board, googled for information by email address and real name, read homepages, searched university web directories, that sort of thing. But only the publicly available information. I haven’t broken into a computer system, or looked anyone’s up on publicdata.com or anything like that.
As said above, it’s just trying to get a more complete picture of someone.
I’ve done the opposite. If I read a post that twists my nipples the wrong way, I’ll go off on a total Scotland Yard trip on the offending poster to see if they’ve ever even remotely posted anything else that might piss me off.
Well, sorta like heraldgwena said. I don’t get romantically interested in people. However, if someone intrigues me with a really well-written or funny response, I’ve looked up some of their past posts.
