On a school trip to Minneapolis, I bought a Twins hat even though I have/had no interest in baseball. I wore that hat a lot.
When I was just a pre-schooler, my mother used to dress me in various items of Auburn Tigers apparel; I didn’t even know who they were.
In the same spirit, I have University of Idaho Mighty Vandals and UMBC Retrievers t-shirts.

I had a 'Bama visor when I worked in Gulf Shores for a summer because I needed a hat and it was all the Winn Dixie had. It was funny the amount of “Roll Tide!”'s I got when I was wearing it around.
I’m a huge Cubs fan, but I was in San Francisco visiting a friend once and we decided to go see the Giants play the Phillies on a whim. It was a sunny day, and I’m a bald guy, so to prevent sunburn I bought a Giants cap. I’m pretty indifferent to the Giants for the most part, not sure what ever became of that cap. Probably got donated to Goodwill somewhere along the line. Now if it was a Cardinals cap - screw that, I’ll fry in the sun first.
I’ve never cared about the Dallas Cowboys much, but a few years ago, I won a Cowboys jersey in a raffle at my local sports bar. I’ve worn it a few times.
Yeah, much like all the Yankees haters in this thread, I feel this way about the Cowboys & Red Sox. If I had no choice, I would turn Cowboy or Red Sox gear inside out before wearing it.
Yes, during those periods in High School that I didn’t like the team I was playing for but continued to play anyway. Probably not what you meant, but I did it.
