Rough but serviceable recording of the full fight. If it gets yanked, I’m pretty sure someone else will step up in a day or two.
Well, I said earlier this year that this fight was probably going to be completely unsatisfying, and it didn’t disappoint (or rather, it didn’t NOT disappoint). I could practically smell the commentators’ desperation; they were clearly in the tank for Tyson and unwilling to face the reality of a 58-year-old not having the hand speed, footwork, or stamina to do this anymore. As for Paul, I said it before, the obnoxious jerks who survive are the ones who have learned to protect themselves and be quick on their feet. It’s simple Darwinism. Paul knew that his opponent’s only chance was if he barreled in looking for a knockout and exposed himself, so he didn’t. Tag, move, clinch, snipe, duck and weave, keep the proper distance. He did exactly what he needed to do to dominate a one-punch geezer. No one should’ve expected anything more.
(I will say that Tyson is very handsome for his age. And a career boxer, no less!)
