Tyson says he may not be done. I’d love to see him box Trump’s deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller.
I think Paul’s strategy was to win on points. He’s younger and had a greater reach. Paul needed to avoid that hammer Tyson is known for. Paul has the faster legs and it let him do that. Dance at range, never let Tyson close. Boring but probably smart.
Paul fought a smart fight. The only chance Tyson had was to get into a slugfest. Paul wouldn’t let it happen. He keep a good distance between them and relied on his longer reach and greater speed.
Tyson was very fast when he was young. He excelled at cutting off the ring and getting in close, where he could throw uppercuts and short hooks. He can’t do that any more, so his main tools to compensate for his relatively short reach are gone.
Pretty much what was expected. I’d give Paul credit for taking the fight to Tyson except Tyson is 58 and fought like it. I did enjoy the undercard fights, only a little for the first one but the next two were pretty good.
Neither Tyson nor Paul were boxing to win. They were each playing to not lose. And it sure showed.
Yeah, that was hard to watch.
Yep, Paul proved he can stay out of Tyson’s range. Not much of a fight, more of a dance contest. I’m not saying I’m brave enough to get within Tyson’s punching range to try to hit him effectively, but Paul isn’t either, and he has less of an excuse.
The Serrano/Taylor fight was pretty damn good, though. I actually prefer watching lighter weight fighters go after it.
The women’s fight was pound for pound the best fight of the night. Pun intended.
What next? George Foreman is a spry 75. Or perhaps the corpse of Ali?
I was able to watch the Tyson-Paul fight after it ended when the Netflix servers caught up with demand. Pretty lame fight throughout, but I thought Paul was classy in the final seconds of the fight when he stopped and bowed to Tyson, and his homage to him during the post-match interview.
Still, I have to say that Tyson looked old and tired. (Which hurts for me to say because he’s only two years older me.)
The woman’s fight was hard to watch. Taylor fought dirty, and Serrano was robbed, IMHO.
The best fight of the night was the earlier welterweight fight between Barrios and Ramos. It was actually the best fight I’ve ever seen. Twelve rounds of furious action ending in a split decision draw. It’s the first fight I’ve ever seen in which nobody lost—instead, both boxers won.

Ehh, Serrano’s corner certainly thought so. None of the head contact looked intentional to me, from both sides.

Yeah…her corner was certainly vocal about that. I do not know Taylor’s history regarding headbutts but it did look unintentional to me too. I do think Serrano should have won though. (to be clear…I am no expert…just my $0.02)
The cut on Serrano’s eye was hard to watch as she was being interviewed. Not a serious injury but pretty bad and hard to look at.
Yeah, I would say that I’d have a hard time judging the winner of that fight. If I was employed doing it (and only madmen would employ me for such a task), I would have probably awarded it to Serrano.
Jake Paul says he wants to fight Canelo Alvarez. I strongly support this idea.
I hear Rudy Giuliani needs a payday.
I watch way more MMA than boxing. I kept yelling at the TV “Just kick him in the head!”
I watch bare knuckle boxing. Lots of bloodshed.
Perhaps, “If any question why we died, / Tell them, because our fathers lied.”

I hear Rudy Giuliani needs a payday.
I thought they outlawed bum fights.
What a snooze fest. Did you hear the booing?
