The great thing about the format of posts in threads on a message board is you can go back and read them.

Your post, even in the context of responding to MrDibble was not in response to anything anyone had posted in another thread. It was clearly about what people were posting in this thread.

You can make up anything you want to believe, but simply posting your own imaginary beliefs does not make them true.

He’s clearly talking about this thread. He mentions ATMB because he’s talking about moderator actions which usually gets discussed in that forum. He’s not referring to any posts there, however.

It looks like you misunderstood him, and that’s why your post caused confusion. No harm no foul. But a better approach would be to simply clarify what you meant, rather than insulting me for reacting to it.

I am not responsible for you getting your feelings hurt in a Pit thread when you choose to spin a misinterpretation of events for the purpose of feeling insulted.

It doesn’t look like it, but the Shodan hijack is actually adding value to the pitting of BPC.

Even though no one seems to have actually done it we’ve all been sternly warned against bringing up the fact that Budget makes antisemitic remarks and prefers underage mentally disabled girls as sexual partners in threads not specifically on those topics.

Yet, it seems clear that it’s OK to bring up random comments that Shodan made in a different thread six years ago.

I, for one, am anxiously awaiting the warnings that are sure to come against the posters doing exactly to Shodan exactly what we were just warned we couldn’t ever to do Budget.

A one-off comment about either BPC or Shodan is unlikely to get the attention of the Mods. Following either of those posters around and interrupting threads repeatedly with such remarks outside The BBQ Pit probably will.

I look forward to you actually bringing an adult level of understanding to our exchange, but I am not going to hold my breath waiting for that to happen.

What happened in this thread to Shodan doesn’t qualify as “repeatedly”? It was a hijack that basically took the thread over for a couple pages.

You’re position has been made crystal clear. Budget gets special protection from the mods for some reason. Meanwhile, the same rules don’t apply to Shodan.

As a casual reader of this thread, I finally have to delurk and ask: why do you keep harping on this? Has anyone actually said they want to be able to make off-topic remarks about any other poster outside of the Pit? Why do you keep bringing it up?

And now that I’ve been drawn into this terrible thread, I have to point out that it is somewhat comical that you and Colibri both started off the thread mournfully shaking your heads that anyone would be so heartless and awful as to criticize BPC for remarks he made in the past! In other threads! Oh, the humanity! Yet, when the topic turned to Shodan, Colibri couldn’t start posting links about dickish stuff he said years ago fast enough. All of this stuff seems to be coming from you guys as posters, not mods, so I think Debaser’s comment about special protection from the mods is false, but that doesn’t change the fact that you guys aren’t exactly the model of consistency as posters.
