Happy Wednesday Y’all!
Same here. Been through one cup and need to get started on the purtification. Pug dog is barking at me for her breakfast. Have read all but nothing to contribute this morning. Have a good day!
Tupug
Mornin’ all - up and caffeinating. I’ve had a mini-bagel w/almond butter this morning also and it was good.
Still laying a bit low, but have read and tried to retain. Glad that FCD is doing better; Puggy, how’s the new job going? Mmmmms are you on that countdown til reuniting with your hubby for good now?! Nava, enjoy your vacation, Mom notwithstanding! (You are on vacay, right?!)
Happy hump day, all. At least by the end of today it will be three down, two to go!
Blurf. That is all.
Up. The heat actually came on! It dropped to the mid-40s overnight and it was decidedly brisk when I took the dogs out.
**FCD **tried sleeping in the guest room last night to see if that mattress would be more comfy than ours. He was up and about around 2, looking for his pain meds, and I think I heard him going back to bed a little before 5. Poor baby. I should probably avoid doing any chores so I don’t disturb him, right?
Plans for today are pretty much about tidying. And I found out an old friend is coming to town for a long weekend - his test pilot school class is having a reunion. I’m hoping he can stop over while he’s here. Although I was going to be seeing him and his wife when I got to FL in 2 weeks. Heh - haven’t seen them in years and now, twice in a month!
I need to forage for something breakfast-like. I’m thinking peanut butter toast.
Blurf. How can it be morning already? Gotta get up and get to work, I suppose.
Hugs.

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.
Ah ha! So you were the one.
I’ve stopped by a different nursery most every day this week just to see what’s out and to pick up a few more things to fill in the… ummm… holes. Ought to make for one enjoyable ‘Plantaganza’ this weekend.
Blurf.
Brekkied, caffeinating part deux.
Mailed my tax papers to the Infernal Revenue Service this morning. Now I have to scrounge up the $$$ to pay the bastards.
Strongly considering taking time off on Firday. I’ve gone from Don Wanna to IDon’tGiveADamn, so the time off is needed.
Carry on.
Hmmmmm - do I go for the “naked voodoo ceremony” or just tie a rubber band around my fanny and run around the house singing “I’m an airplane, watch me take off”? Decisions, decisions. Ah heck, I got half a day off so I’ll probably do both.
I’ve stayed up all night, I’m not done, but I’m sharing some of the stuff I’ve been working on all semester from Art 422, the class that has been consuming my life. These are the 'Story Spark’ cards. (it should be a slideshow. There are four images). Each is reversible, and thus, to keep you from having to hang from the ceiling, I’ve flipped each one.
There’s Earth, with my rendition of Gaia (look! she’s dark! Which makes a hell of a lot more sense than Caucasian! =e.e= ) and a mine; and Darkness / Light, with Skoti, the wolf that’ll eat the moon at the end of days, and a plague doctor. With a homemade scarf, because he’s a rather nice guy doing something most people wouldn’t.
Please note, I’m supposed to have at least 15 (and I’d prefer 18) done by by the end of the semester. At the moment, these two are the only ones done. However, I’m going to have four more done by Friday (and hopefully by this afternoon) so I can put them in the student art show.
The final cards will be playing card size. I haven’t yet designed the back.
And now, back to work with me. sigh
Keep those appendages crossed, folks! Mr Rebo just had his second interview with the lumber company, and it’s looking good! The manager told him that he’d seen other candidates, but that they only had driving experience, with no product experience. Mr Rebo has both! They talked about the drug screening, too, which is a good sign. The guy said he’d call this afternoon.
::scrinches up eyes and prays really hard::
crosses lots of appendages
goes to the kitchen and crosses the appendages of the squid that’s for dinner
There, more appendages!
No, it’s not OUR squid, don’t look at me like that
Suddenly, I’m a bit worried that you live in the same half of the country as I do. Heck, it’s disturbing that you’re in the same hemisphere!! But I guess as long as you don’t live next door…
**Rebo **- everything is crossed for Mr. R! It makes me walk funny, but for you, I’ll deal.
The house-cleaning sisters should get here within half an hour. I wish I had a clue what such services should cost. **FCD **is guessing between $80 and $100 per visit. Last time we had anyone clean for us was over 20 years ago, and I think it was $40 or $50 for roughly the same area we have now. That was with Merry Maids, and we only used them 2 or 3 times - we were less than impressed.
We had a few minutes of sun, but it’s overcast again. I want sun, dagnabbit! It was grey and dreary all day yesterday. I want sun! <stamping little feet and waving litting fists in the air>
OK, I’m better now…
She’s home!
Bus Wife was in the hospital for a couple of days, coming home last night. She’d been having weird (her word) chest pains for a few days, and on Sunday finally let me take her to the ER. She ended up admitted (duh) for a couple days of bloodletting, scanning, angio-ing and the like.
Her Very Nice Doc was only able to confirm that she DOES indeed have a heart, and that it appears all is in order, ruling that out. So it’s likely muscular, or skeleton-ish…
Anyway she’s home today resting from the angiogram, which just SOUNDED like SuckLand. I’m being the good husband for another day, carting food to and from the couch and waiting hand and foot when I can.
In other news, I’ve found the Batphone (aka the WorkBerry) which I thought I’d lost.
It was in my back pocket.
Blurf. Irking.

FCM, we pay $90/visit to our cleaning crew which is pretty low for our area. Any of the national companies - e.g. Merry Maids, The Maids, etc. - were close to, if not over $200. I’d say your ballpark is about right or maybe a little low for a private, non-chain cleaning service.
I visited the vampires this morning. I haven’t had a cholesterol test in at least 4 years so my doc thought it was time. I don’t mind the bloodletting; I just don’t like not being able to eat breakfast. I picked up a bagel and coffee on the way to work, though, so now I feel better.
**taxi **- yeah, I was low. They said probably $120 a visit. But it’s 2 of them, one who was our pet sitter a few years back. They’ll come on Monday and do a super, slightly more expensive first cleaning (probably $150) then let us know for sure what it’ll cost from here on out.
PapaJohn is making supper. I need to don some real pants (not tattered sweats) and go fetch it. I’s hongree!!!
OK…so I was in ‘Moving Preparation Hell’ but
The relocation lady I met with this afternoon was great. She will deal with all the utilities, final inventory, return of equipment…
Then I have managed to sell my TV/washer/fridge/drill/lamps/iron/microwave all in the space of 3 hours…
Then my moving agent cleared something up for my on customs paperwork which makes about 300 times less hassle and work…
Man. This is meant to be!
20 more sleeps people 20 more sleeps! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Oh and irk wasn’t to horrific today and I am currently working from home with all the windows open.
Healing thoughts for fcd and Buswife!
