Everything's Blooming! A Happy Spring MMP

Read this morning and retained some!

Glad it was an easy solution buns

fcm go buy chocolate for goodness sake! Also glad fcd is recuperating well.

Along the theme of the OP my sister and my parents have the ‘green thumb’ in the family. My dad was planting his veggie garden over the weekend - rows of peas, squashes, onions and potatoes were done not to mention the cucumbers, tomatoes, leeks and various others he has started off in the greenhouse. He does this for fun and relaxation and he is really good at it. My sister has a wonderful garden that has colour all year - right now the daffodils and tulips are beautiful and her snowdrops and crocus were a few weeks ago.

In other news the movers are packing me up on the 29th. I am then going to spend a few days with my parents then be back with the hubby on May 4th…21 more sleeps! :D:D:D

Good thoughts for scones’s dad.

Almost exactly two months left until vacation. Pleeeeeeeeeease come soon.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN Thus beginneth my irkweek. ICK!

Gotta go. Need to feed rumbly tummy and get purtified for work.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Blurf. I am tired today, because I had a late night and couldn’t sleep, and 'im indoors was all fidgety after he finally got to bed at some ridiculous hour in the morning.

Last night was fun though, I went with a friend to see the 25th anniversary touring show of Les Misérables. The show started at 7.30pm so we met up after I’d finished work and we went to a great local restaurant for dinner. And cocktails. Very nice cocktails. Well, that’s civilised, isn’t it?

Anyway, we were just in time for the start of the show and I must admit although I’ve seen it before, I had forgotten how long it is. It didn’t finish until 10.30pm so we weren’t back home until well after 11pm and it was nearly midnight before I got to bed. So that’s why I’m tired today.

Then I found that all the trains were cancelled for the last part of my journey to work, and I had to catch a bus from town to the campus. Not a huge problem but it meant I was about half an hour late in, although since we work on flexible hours, I’m not really late at all.

I am having a cup of tea to recover.

mmmmmmmmmmms - how many sleeps was that? Do I sense a small amount of enthusiasm there? Sorry to hear about the moster hangover though, the solution is simply to keep drinking.

**mmmmmmm **- I may fetch some chocolate today. I’ve been reluctant to leave the patient home alone just yet, just in case he stumbles or something. But maybe I can dare an hour when he takes a nap.

And your dad and his garden reminds me of a widower who lives near my mom. He’s in his 90s and he has always had a huge veggie garden. He’ll bring his harvest into the sun porch, then stick a sign at the road stating what he has for sale. His prices are ridiculously cheap - pretty much to recover the cost of the seed. Mom stops there a lot - it’s barely a mile from home, so it’s really convenient for her, and nothing is as good as home-grown.

I slept well last night - I woke a couple of times, but rolled right over and zonked out again. And, amazingly, the little brat dog didn’t soil any carpet overnight! YAY! Today is going to be grey and dreary, and apart from a quick run to the grocery store, I think I’ll attack the disaster that is our smallest bedroom - the place where crap amasses. There’s an old computer armoire in there that I want to move to the guest bedroom, then I can tidy and organize what remains in the green room. The inlaws, including FCD’s brother, are coming to visit this summer, so we’ll need both bedrooms. Even tho the green room has no bed, it will have room for an inflatable mattress when I get done in there.

We also may get some rain this afternoon, so yay for that. Otherwise, I’d have to drag the hose out to water my various new plantings.

Happy Tuesday, all! And those of you stateside - have you gotten your taxes done?? Two days to go…

Blurf. Had the meeting at the fahr station last night, and we did one of my FAY-VO-RITE activities, hose testing.

:waits for obligatory Swampy snerk:

Pull the hoses off a truck, spread them out in the parking lot, and hook them up to a poorly designed pump. Charge the hoses, turn the pump on, run the pressure up to 250 PSI, and hold for 5 minutes, hoping the hoses don’t leak or explode. It’s a monumental pain in the ass. I didn’t get to bed until 11.

The Cubeville shuffle comes next week. :grumble:

Changed my return last night, plugging in some real values where I had good guesstimates (mortgage related), and shaved off another $35. Still not happy, but I’m a little less POed. Signatures and stamps tonight…

ETA: DogBut, I’ll be recruiting first mates, second mates, third mates, and general crew. Since you run a store, can you fix us up with some buccin’ hats to cover our buccin’ ears?

Up, caffeinated, off to irk. Big company today.

Thunderstorms here overnight… feeling a bit sleepy this morning. Blurf. But the rain is good for my seeds so there is that.

Yay for the upcoming move, mmmmmmmmmms. How much longer do you have to wait? I seem to remember you saying something about that.

Yay for good news, Scones, and for going to Hubby, mmmmm.
The best table at Mom’s is the one in the living room. Sadly, that means if I’m there and she’s at home it’s also the room where I can’t hear myself think even with headphones on, due to a combination of high TV volume and Mom radioing what’s going on. Maybe I should stop saying “Mom, I survived without that telenovela for 8 months, can I live without it for a couple of weeks?” and graduate to “Mom, I don’t give a flying fuck onna stick”.

It’s rained a wee bit - more to come, I believe. **FCD **just had his first shower since Friday and I know that had to feel good. A sponge bath just isn’t the same. I changed the sheets and he’s snuggled down for a nap now. So yay. I really should get into the green room and do something. I really should. Really…

Yeah, I probably will…

We’ve got a couple of sisters coming over tomorrow to give us an estimate for bi-weekly cleaning. On one hand, it seems an unnecessary extravagance. On the other hand, we hate to clean and we’re still working and can afford it - why not get some more money into the community and have someone else scrub the bathroom floors? So if they’re not too expensive, we’ll strike a deal. We already know one of them - she was our dog and cat sitter when the kid got married 2 years ago.

OK, time to clean. After I do a jigsaw puzzle…

ah, jigsaw puzzles. If only Smokey didn’t insist the dining room table was hers

first LOL of the week (for youse guys anyway)

It’s sooooooooooo worth it. Coming home to that clean, fresh-smelling house every two weeks is great. Plus, it forces us to tidy up and put all the paperwork and magazines and other clutter away at least every two weeks. And, as you said, it does put some money in to the community, which can’t be a bad thing, even if it’s a justification, right?

Loved the LOL, rosie!

**rosie **- on-line jigsaw puzzles - I haven’t done a real puzzle in longer than I can remember.

OK, time for lunch, then I will get in the green room. I really will!

Job vibes please! I was thinking “man, I better get a job soon” after Mom (not-our-Mom-but-my-Mom) got angry at finding one of her bathrooms occupied when the phone rang… it sounds nice…

rosie, that’s one angry-looking bird.

Well, I got a start. The armoire is in the blue room and partly filled. Tomorrow, I’m going to start sorting the piles of crap in the green room, storing some in the armoire, throwing some away, tidying the rest. We’ve got tons of old computer equipment that needs to be recycled, so I’ll send it all with SIL when he takes trash on Thurs. Our convenience center has a container for recycling electronics, so I can get rid of the old printers, the extra keyboards, and whatever else has accumulated. With luck, when I’m done, there’ll be enough space to set up an inflatable bed for my brother in law when he and his folks visit this summer. Unless I get a futon…

It’s raining. Not hard, but a nice shower. I’ve got tuna steaks thawing for supper. Not sure what sides will accompany. Decisions, decisions…

Just another day in paradise.

I have spent a lovely day off the puter. I biked up to the middle school to pay next year’s fees and then over to the library for some more reading material. Then I gardened a bit, washed myself and hair and sat on the porch swing, drinking tea, eating cookies and reading. It’s a nice life.

Now pork roast is in the oven, along with jacket potatoes. Back to work tomorrow. It is so gorgeous out–about 68, sunny and breezy. Everything is in bloom: tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, quince, grape hyacinth, magnolias, crab apples are about to fully bloom, pears, hawthornes… It’s wonderful to just BE out there.

I love fall and winter, but there is nothing like a spring day to make you feel alive.

I am so lazy, I copied and pasted this from another of my message boards. :stuck_out_tongue:

Howdy Y’all! One down and four to go.

I read but did not comprehend. My sinuses ache. Can’t think or comprehend. It’s time for sinus drugs and beddy bye soon. ICK!

I forgot to post this morning! Hi, y’all!

Nothing of note to speak of in the Rebo house. Although, I did just see a beehive in someone’s home on the news. They said it might have been there for ten years! They were pulling out *dozens *of pounds of honeycomb. : shudder :

ETA: Feel better, Swampus!

Busy day. I think soon I shall go read my Kindle. I lead such an exciting life…
