Everything's Blooming! A Happy Spring MMP

Andy’s the one with the beard, and Joe’s a twunt. That should sort 'em out for you!

OK, OK, OK, I’m completely done with my taxes now. FTR, it took 20 minutes to do the local ones. Dunno why they don’t store my employer info from last time if they’re holding on to my tax ID. Woulda been less typing.

Anyhoooo, up and at 'em!

Is it Firday yet?

Daughter just left for school which is work which you know because she’s a teacher. She’s in the final weeks of prepping the kids for the SOL which is VA’s standardized tests. The fifth graders take, among other things, science, which covers the material from 4th and 5th grades, so she’s been reviewing all of it in various forms - games, quizzes, practice tests. A few weeks ago, she gave the 2008 test and all but 5 passed, and quite a few passed with very high scores. The principal was pleased because last year’s science teacher apparently stunk, which is why daughter was put in this job.

Next week, they’ll take the 2009 test as a practice so she can see how it’s going. It’ll be interesting when the new kid (just arrived yesterday) takes the test, unless he just transferred in from somewhere else in VA. Anyway, she’ll off to work. **FCD **is sleeping (he was up during the night) SIL is sleeping (big surprise) and Scruffy peed in the diining room again (big surprise.)

I’ve got to deliver some papers to FCD’s office this morning, then run some errands. If all goes well, I’ll get some grass cut, too. We shall see. It’s quite brisk out this morning - 40-ish - brrrrrrrr! I’d love to crawl back in bed, but I’m awake, so I may as well shower and dress and stuff. :frowning:

Up, caffeinated, off to irk. Is it Saturday night yet?

Mooooom, I love the idea of SOL as the acronym for the standardized tests. Fail them, and you’re SOL.

Blurf. Brekkied and caffeinated X 1.

I burn with the raging heat of a lukewarm cup of coffee today. I took an ambulance call last night for what turned out to be a half-assed suicide attempt. (Look at me! Look at me! I want attention!) A 17 year old kid took a large ammount of his granny’s blood pressure medication, passed out, and slammed his head on the concrete garage floor. He was flown to Norfolk, and last we heard will be OK physically. That’s not why I’m miffed, it’s merely the setup.

In the heat of battle or in the winding down, I lost my Bluetooth earpiece for my cell phone. I know it was in my ear when I arrived, because I took it off to use my stethoscope, but when I got in my car to head home, it wasn’t in any of my pockets. Unless it was lost in the back of the ambulance, I figure it fell out when I got out my car keys.

My men’s bikini briefs are not gunched up about the cost. Big spender I am, I paid only $20 for it. I am annoyed because I miss the functionality of hands-free cell phoning.

:smack:, X 0.5

Carry on.

Good morning!

Sorry about your bluetooth thingie, VBob.

I’m sleepy this morning. Mr Rebo couldn’t sleep last night, and I ended up getting up around 3:15 to sit with him. He is making himself crazy with worry about not getting this job. He’s worried about the backgrouond check, because he has a misdemeanor 13 years ago. I wish I could calm him down. He goes in at 8:00 am.

I’m having trouble typing with all my appendages crossed, as well as my eyes! Hee!

I’m hungry. Gonna go heat up leftovers from dinner - Chicken Marsala with Tortellini Alfredo and steamed aspergrass…

Have a good day, Mumpers!

Time to make like a construction worker and tie a cord to it like they do with earplugs. Of course, the catch will be figuring out what to attach the other end to.

Have a pee test today?

Have not read. Have nothing to retain…

Work has been Keee-RAAAAAY-zeeee!!!

And to top all that off, we’re having a “wide scale police exercise” all over the country today. A 15 minute drive just took me an hour and 15 minutes

I’m finally at home, but highly aggravated.

Blurf.

Back from errands. I need to change into grubbies, then I’m going to work outside. Along with my list purchases, I got some petunias, 2 peonies, and something else that I forget… ?? Anyway, I’ll get them planted, then get to mowing. And I need to get SIL to attack the ditch. Good times.

I continue to be pissed at manufacturers who raise their prices by shrinking the size of their products. The dog food that used to come in 27# bags are now only 20#, in the same size bag. So there’s a big void in the sack. Idiots! Same with pumpkin processors. The cans used to be a full pound. Now they’re 14.5 oz - that screws up my recipe! GRRRRRRR!!    I’m gonna write someone a letter!! That’ll show 'em!

FCD has been having a bad morning, so he’s drugged, and I think after he showers, he’ll lie down again. I’ll be glad to see the Dr tomorrow. I’m pretty sure his progress is good, but it’ll be official coming from the man with the MD after his name.

When does irk get interesting again? I’m bored.

We’ve gotten rain 3 days this week so I’m hoping my seeds will start sprouting soon. I don’t know if the pepper plant that I’m attempting to start in the house is going to make it. I’ve tried a couple seeds, and so far, no go. I’m edging past the time when I can start it from seed and actually harvest peppers at the end of the summer. So I may just have to buy a pepper plant.

Heh. He does - what an aroma for the tester! LOL!

Anyone ever hear of a house near her for sale, send me a PM. I don’t know that I would move ---------- but just going to the open house could be worth the effort.

I would hate to leave my neighbors though. They’ve gotten used to me. Well ------- not really “used to me”. But they have gotten harder to surprise. I was up on my roof a few years back checking some shingle damage after a storm and a couple neighbors started the usual “Don’t jump, don’t jump” type of routine. I really couldn’t think of something I wanted to shout from a roof-top so I just mooned them. They weren’t expecting that. Between the surprise and wanting to gouge their eyes out with spoons, they pretty much left me alone for most of a season.

I got you penciled in for August or something ------- just let me know the week before. We can PM back and forth just how “interesting” a part of Pittsburgh you want to visit.

As it happens, the only house that was for sale in our little neighborhood has either been sold, or it’s off the market. WHEW!

Darn!

Ow ow ow ow. I’ve gotten Mr. Lissar’s cold, which is accompanied by a massively sore throat and my tonsils (which I hate, and wish I’d had taken out when I was a kid) are so swollen that swallowing hurts like heck.

Ow.

And Nat may have stopped napping (all fingers crossed that he hasn’t, please), because he refused to nap two days in a row.

And I was up between 12 and 2 with the baby, who got up for the day at six.
So yeah, today sucks. The weather’s nice, though.

I have communed with nature. I planted 6 marigolds and 2 dozen petunias. Then I hosed down the front porch to clear off the pollen. I just finished mowing the back yard and the side along the road. When I rest up a bit, I’ll go out and plant the peonies and the gladiolas.

I also bought some radish seeds - can they be planted in pots? If so, how deep a pot?

Holy cow - it’s after 3! Where did the day go??

Howdy Y’all! Three down and two to go! WOOHOO! Irk was less irksome than usual though still irksome mind you.

Dindin tonight shall be leftovers. Little of this. Little of that. Always makes for an innerestin’ meal. I shall redeem myself tomorrow cause I’ll grill steaks. Grilled steak is always redemptive.

I can’t decide if I am turned on or oogied by this mental image. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think I shall go have me a beerverage out by the pool cause it’s nice and warm out and I can.

Later Y’all!

Well, they’re decidedly ungunched. I stopped by the scene on the way home from irk, and found my Bluetooth in the yard, right about where my driver’s door would have been. Happy happy joy joy!

yeah, plenty up here on Lawn Guylindt, but I just can’t see you traveling all this way just for an Open House ;)
