Well dang! I didn’t win mega millions yet again. Guess I’ll have to go to irk tomorrow morning. Ain’t I just pitiful!
Apparently all the Mumper luck got used up by BBBobbio and his bluetooth.

Well, that and my nearly-lost purse earlier this week. I’m pretty sure I didn’t tell this one yet. Went outside with a friend to have lunch on some benches near our building. Finished lunch. Walked around the block (it’s a fairly big block; 15-minute walk or so). Went back to my office, put things down to get ready to go to a meeting. Looked around my office for my purse and hadn’t even made it to the W in WTF when my phone rang:
Guard: This is Guard’sName from security. Is this GT? (Light of happiness dawns in **GT’s **world.)
GT: Yes.
Guard: Are you missing a purse?
GT: Whoa! I was just this very second realizing that I didn’t have it with me.
Guard: Someone turned it in to the security folks next door. When they didn’t find you there, they called us and brought it over. (I work in a big office complex with two security services. They work together closely, thank goodness.)
Needless to say I hopped into the next available elevator so that I could go retrieve my purse. Didn’t look like anything had been touched, even. Not a single thing missing and everything was in the exact place it had been before. Didn’t really have much that anyone could have done anything with except a little cash, but it was all there. Felt like it was my lucky day…
Sorry you’re sick, LiLi.
FCM, if you’re planting regular round radishes, you don’t need anything much deeper than the radishes you’re planting. This site says your container should be at least 6" deep, but I’ll bet you could get away with something shallower.
Hope Mr. Rebo’s job stuff went well.
Gotta go out and find the book my group is reading for next week.
Back later, maybe with pictures, even.
Hugs.
GT
gt, thanks for the radish dish… I have a couple of decent size pots, so I think I can manage 6".
Back from dinner with an old friend. He and I went to college together, and he and his wife helped me thru some tough days back then. He used to be an instructor at Test Pilot School, so he’s in town for a reunion. I was going to invite him to the house, but **FCD **is not up for visitors, so we met at Outback and had a nice dinner and chat. Plus I’ll see him and his wife in 2 weeks when I got to Jacksonville. We’re going out for BBQ then!
Thus endeth my Thursday. My week at home is almost over. Wish I was independently wealthy… * <sigh>*
I’ll let you know. Wednesday the 11th is the pub crawl.
I’ve been watching the same macroeconomy videos so many times that I don’t hear 99% of what they say any more… blah blah Russia blah blah export blah blah finance…
I swear to Og, 99% of what these guys say leaves me thinking “and you need four or more years of college to learn that?”
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN
Gotta go feed rumbly tummy and purtify for irk. ICK!
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Morning, mumpers! Happy Firday…it’s lovely out there, the sky’s blue and the sun is shining. I got to the office this morning and one of the girls had made me a cup of tea and left it on my desk. What a great start to the day!
I have some evaluation forms to finish then I am hoping to get the lot of 'em up to the med school for some lucky statistician to play with. Then I have to find room in the archives for this year’s exam scripts - that means I get to mess about with the understairs filing area. Woot, I think.
Get better soon, sickies…and rosie’s sig to the rest of you.
FINALLY I am done with my work for this week. Right in time for quittin’ time, thank God.
I wish the weather would stop being ridiculous. Freakin’ April. I should not need to wear a cardigan under my jacket.
Happy Firday, everyone!!!
And happy return of lost items.
Fingers still crossed for Mr. Rebo.
Those mega millions eluded us as well, swampy.
I wish peonies would grow down here, mooooom. They smell so lovely when they bloom.
Sometimes your kids just make you proud. Here’s a little article about my son and his group.
Irk will be quiet today. New boss and other bosses are at a conference out at the airport. I’ll be proofing an online course we’re putting together that has several modules containing about 50 pages each. By quit-o-clock my eyeballs should be bleeding.
Tupug
Very cool, Puggy!
Am up, purtified, caffeinated, breakfasted, and…out the door (practically)!!!
Happy Firday, everyone!!!
GT
Happy Firday!
Everything looks good on the job front. Just waiting for the results of the tests. We should know on Monday.
I have so much to do today. Ack! Laterz.
Here it is, 8:30-ish and already we’ve been to the Dr, gotten staples out, gotten X-rays, and been to the pharmacy for a less narcotic pain killer. Gotta love a doc who takes appointments at 7AM!!!
I’ll be doing a little more gardening today, and SIL and I will be dumping rock into our ditch - at least part of one ditch. We’re going to mow really close, then put down landscape cloth and pour in granite gravel. In theory, that will keep the grass from growing, making ditch maintenance easier. It will take several loads of gravel to do across the front of the lot, but it’ll be worth it. Theoretically…
Chilly weekend predicted - might be good weeding weather. We’ll see how that goes. Today, however, will get near 80, so the gravel work may not be as much fun as one would think.
TGIF!
Hello everyone. Here I am at work. Sucks to be here. I’d much rather be home. It’s supposed to hit around 70 today. Perfect yard work weather.
Very cool, Puggy. They have one of those types of shops up in Seattle. It made the news not too long ago.
Well, I suppose I should dig into my work. I have to go to a meeting shortly too. Bleh.
At least it’s Friday.
Are there any landscape plants that can take repeated exposure to Mr. Bubble?
It’s in the 60s and beautifully sunny out, but with wind gusts up to 35 mph, it’s much nicer to be inside just looking at the nice weather outdoors.
Cool puggy. We bought our bikes a couple years ago from a co-op like that. Neat places.
FCM, I think you’ve worked too hard over your vacation. (Not that I’d do any better.) I think you need to go sit down a read a trashy novel. Is that what vacation is for??
I finally started the *biga *last night, gt. I think we’ll have fresh Italian bread on Saturday.
I think I’m going to suggest Afghan food for dinner tonight. That sounds good. And it usually doesn’t involve a long wait. I’m a fan of not waiting an hour for dinner.
The weather is terrific, we don’t have the winds TAXI does, and I’m stuck using the car instead of the bike because I have a ton of stuff to haul to a church sale for this weekend.
I just said a few dirty words because of the above information.
Slightly less miserable today.
Happy Friday!
**lieu **- Mr. Bubble?? I hope the reason you’re asking isn’t related to the mental image I’m dealing with right now…
**taxi **- vacation? Um, no, not even close. I’m off work to keep my spousal unit from over exerting himself while he recovers. Definitely not a vacation. But it does afford me the opportunity to get some chores done. Like the peonies that are now planted. And the plants that are watered. And the ditch chore that will be done after SIL gets out of class…
The ditches have been mowed, raked, and vac’d. We know where we’re going to put the gravel - we just ran out of steam. Guess I know what tomorrow’s chore will be.
The kids are going out tonight, so **FCD **and I get to have quality time together. Me knitting, us watching TV - woohoo!
So what if lieu likes to take a bubble bath with the plants. Who are you to judge MOOOOOOM!
Ummm… today if Firday. I wished everybody a Happy Thursday. So what. Tomorrow is my Firday, So There!
Steak and sallit for dindin was good! I grilled up some hot dawgs and bratwursts for tomorrow’s dindin. Dawgs, brats, slaw and fries. I even already made the slaw. Go Me!
Irk was super irky today just because everybody irked me all irkin’ day. IRK!
Ok, enough of that. I think I’ll go snoop around teh intertoobz a bit.
Later Y’all!
