**taxi **- technically, I could have taken all the time off as Family Leave, but I’ve got a lot of vacation time to burn, so I used half and half. No biggie - I’ve still got a couple of weeks I can use later this year.

Didn’t read, no time (today), but dropped into say that now the redbud is blooming, as are the crabapples, the lilacs are in bud, the Virginia bluebells are fantastic and all the tulips are now in bloom as well. The daffs are not fading as fast as usual (despite 2 80 degree days). It cooled off today and we got rain, so everything is lush and [del]fecund[/del] well, springy!
Yesterday, I picked up my cat’s ashes from the vet’s office.
It seems the crematorium misspelled Raven’s name. They engraved the tag “Ra Ven”. So, apparently, my kitty has been promoted to Egyptian sun god status. I like to think she’d approve.
A little news.
I lost 80 pounds as of today!
I’ve been surprised at how long the blossoms around here have lasted. We’ve had a couple of strong storms, but trees have just kept on blooming.

Long round trip drive for me tomorrow and then some OUTrageous Bingo; some friends are joining us this month. I just love breaking in bingo virgins on fore-play and “find the hole”.

Which means I need to be sure my laundry is done by Thursday, since I’m leaving Friday right after work. Dang…
Not sure what today’s plans are, apart from taking **FCD **to his office to pick up a disk of drawings. Maybe we’ll combine it with breakfast out?? We shall see. Daughter wants me to sew the curtains for her classroom, which is a pretty quick job, and I’d like to get the first of the rocks in the ditch. So we’ll see how it all goes.
For now I’m stahving, but my sweetie just took a pain pill, so he’s crashed for a while longer. Guess I’ll smear some peanut butter on toast. Yes, I do have an exciting life…

gt - I, too, got lucky in that didn’t lose what I thought I did way. Wednesday eve, I’d bought a new wallet and threw it in my bag. Thursday, during morning break, I swapped everything from the old wallet to the new. I must now fast forward 9 hours to when, at rehearsal, I reached in for my new wallet to pay for some chorus related things and it was not there. My first panicky thought was that I’d left it out on my desk, filled with lovely money and theft-able ID info, and was about to call building security when I stopped myself because I slowly, carefully remembered that I’d taken a $20 out to go downstairs for lunch. And sort of, hopefully, longingly remembered that I was pretty sure it was in my locked drawer, that when I dropped it in the drawer, it missed my open bag. Fitful sleep, nervous drive into work on Friday, HUGE sigh of relief when I unlocked the drawer and, ah!, there it was.

Well my birthday weekend plans are screwed thanks to volcanic ash in UK airspace and all fights being cancelled. I couldn’t even get a seat on the Eurostar. Oh well Hubby and I are going to San Antionio in 3 weeks when I get back to the US so we are going to celebrate my birthday, his birthday and our wedding anniversary then. Which means 3 more weeks of being 32 instead of turning 33 on Tuesday. In my head at least anyway.
I am cleaning to be ready to hand the apt over in 2 weeks. Windows are washed and kitchen is wiped down so far. Off to forage for food as I am suddenly starving.

Big brag to make: I got my first IV start on a patient last night 1) in a moving ambulance; 2) on a very bumpy road; and 3) lived through it or didn’t rip it out.
I had previous successes on a cardaic arrest without a happy ending, and a patient that ripped it out in a psychotic fit.
I’s tahred this morning. Gotta [del]make hay[/del] mow the yahd today. I live such an exciting life.

ems, I’m sorry about your jacked up plans. My friend is supposed to be flying from Seattle to Frankfurt, Germany. It’s looking like she’s not going to be able fly out tomorrow as her BiL informed her all the airports are closed.
She was heading back for niece’s first communion because she’s the Godmother.
Not much planned for today. Going to visit some friends, and I think that’s about it.
