Evil Dead Mafia II - Teaser and Sign-Ups [Game On!]

Very long and important post.

After being on the cusp of claiming for awhile, I’ve finally decided to (reason at the end).
I’m an Investigator.

NAF is not a demon. I breadcrumbed it, in this post, made shortly after this Day started.
In it, there are four sentences. If you read only the first words of all four sentences, it reads “NAF Is Not Scum”.

He MAY still be a malicious third party, but he is definitely NOT a Demon/Deadite. I know this for 100 percent fact.
My role PM, which I’m about to post, shows how I know it with surity:
Welcome to the game; you are the Inexperienced Religious Figure

ALIGNMENT: Town
GENERIC: Investigator
WIN CONDITION: All Scum and malicious third-parties (if any) have been vanquished.

BACKGROUND:

You have come here fresh out of religious training, young and idealistic and bursting with faith in a denominationally-nonspecific higher being. Some years ago, your mentor, an Older Religious Figure Having a Crisis of Faith, came to this cabin to do battle with the last set of monstrous Demons to plague central Michigan; the last you ever heard from him was the letter he left you informing you of his decision to go.

Well, if the Demons have returned, you have total confidence in your ability to pick up the sword left behind by your former teacher, and stand against the dark tide that is coming. Let monsters come what may: you will face them with unshakable sense of purpose, iron will, and tremendous physical bravery. They will cower at your coming.

Oh, and if you touch a Demon, you’ll die.

Good luck!

POWERS:

 1. The power of a denominationally-nonspecific higher being flows through you. Once per Night, you may lay your hands upon another player, and allow this power to flow into them. If they are not a Deadite from the bowels of Hell, nothing at all will happen.

If they are a Deadite of any variety, they will be permanently and divinely marked with a heavenly sign upon their brow, visible to all, indicating that the player you touch is a Deadite. Unfortunately, in leaving the sign, you will be consumed by the heavenly flames that etch this sign, and die. No Deadite is immune to this ability. We offer no assurances that all your enemies are, in fact, Deadites.
So you see, my power is not “finding out what role they are” based…it is touch based.
Still, I worried a bit, to Storyteller, that my power would work the first Night due to 1. NAF holding the book and 2. NAF casting that Night shroud curse on himself.

Asked I:

Answered he:

That gave me peace of mind…so I went ahead and touched NAF last night (heh).

Come Day, I got this message from Story:

So NAF cannot be a demon. If he was, I’d be dead and he’d have had the mark placed on him showing him to be scum to everyone else.

That’s my role and power. I touch one person every Night. If they’re a Demon/Deadite, I will die automatically…but THEY will be outed, at Day, as scum to all the other players.

The reasons I’m claiming are threefold.

First (and the main reason), is because of the growing suspicion that my actions (not finding NAF shady anymore after Day started) have probably already tripped scum’s meters. I’m sure they’ve already considered the strong possibility that my complete 180 came from finding out something last Night. I doubt they’ll want to take any chances. This quote only solidified it in my head:

**

I think Telcontar is scum. I’ve been suspicious of him/her most the game, so far. And since he/she is saying he/she’s considered this, I’m pretty sure scum would have tried to kill me off the next Night.
Secondly, I came out with it because hopefully, if there’s some kind of protective role out there, they can protect me if they believe me. If I didn’t claim, there’d be no reason to protect me toNight and I’d be at risk of being killed off by scum who think I might have investigative powers…or a Vig/Third Party killing role who might be suspicious. At least this way, I have the chance at being believed by a protector and might be protected.
And third/last, I’m tired of this “Is NAF lying?” nonsense. Really, it’s a huge distraction right now and one that I can easily fix. NAF is not a Deadite, so I’m leaning more toward he’s NOT lying about not having the book anymore nor at how he lost it.
Yes, he may still be a malicious third party…so that’s why I still said I had wariness of him. And yes, he still could be lying if he’s a third party… BUT…he is not a Deadite. So take that as you will.

So there you have it. I know my lasting in this game won’t be for long now…but if I’m protected at Night somehow, I’ll continue to try to find Demons.
Right now I’m pointing fingers at One and Only Wanderers, Telcontar, Guiri, and Drain Bead. The first three for their riding me about my lost suspicion of NAF. As I already said, I think scum figured it could have come from some sort of Night power…so those three really looked like they were fishing for it and trying to force me to claim. Well, it worked…good news for them.
Bad news for them…I’ll be touching those four in SOME random order the next few Nights pending my being alive in the game AND pending there not being another suitable suspect. What order, I’ll not be saying…let them, if they’re scum, WiFoM it.
Last thought: I think scum will now want me out asap (so I don’t have the chance to touch anyone else toNight)…so they’ll try to draw doubt on my claim.
