Why did you decide to track OAOW?
Mahaloth claimed to have had a one shot investigation and that he had learned there were two.
He’s still alive in the game and has claimed Town.
That was Mahaloth, and Normal has confirmed that he (or someone anyway) asked the question on the night he claimed to have asked the question.
ETA: of course, I could be lying.
ETAA: dammit, Total!
It was Mahaloth, he’s still alive.
Fair enough.
lol
And I got the links to prove it as well

I don’t know what to do about McGs absence, but it’s probably not our most pressing problem.
Allow me to quote my Night Four Action PM to storyteller:
Seriously, I had no idea. I didn’t want to track anyone on whom there was much suspicion, because it seems to me that Scum have some discretion as to who does what and whether a given individual does anything at all. Idle had found OAOW suspicious, but nobody was focusing on him recently at Dusk of Day 4, and there were plenty of suspicions flying around. So I figured if he was Scum or a SK, he’d have no compelling reason not to do a Kill. So I figured if he did nothing (which is what I really expected), I’d have good reason to think he was Vanilla Town.
When I got back the response that OAOW had used an investigative power on Natlaw, I figured I’d just keep my mouth shut until OAOW said something, anything. It seemed likely he was Town, since investigators usually are, but it wasn’t definite. I figured if I waited until he said something, if he said anything other than that he had investigated Natlaw on Night 4, I could go “Gotcha Ya!” and if he said he had investigated Natlaw on Night 4, I could confirm it. Which I did.
So, not very good reasoning, but a pretty decent result. We can say with some degree of certainty that Natlaw and OAOW are not Scum together. They could both be Town, or either one could be Scum, but they aren’t both Scum. In my opinion, the liklihood is that they’re both Town, but that is not a certainty.
I might as well go ahead and claim. It is pretty unlikely that I would get any useful information from here on out.
Mafia Evil Dead: Role PM
Welcome to the game; you are the Cameraman
ALIGNMENT: Town
GENERIC: Limited Watcher
WIN CONDITION: All Scum and malicious third-parties (if any) have been vanquished.
BACKGROUND:
You are an ordinary working stiff, tasked with recording as much raw footage as you can and passing it to a crack team of editors, who will assemble it into a reality show bearing only a vague resemblance to actual reality. Step 3: Profit!
Unfortunately, your crack of team of editors has regrettably declined to continue respiratory and circulatory activity. Your cell phone doesn’t work and you’re stuck here for the moment. Your situation, it must be said, is tenuous; a guy with a camera wandering around a haunted cabin in the woods is just begging for a cool first-person perspective throat-slashing scene. You saw Blair Witch, after all.
But if you keep your wits about you, you might just be all right. Except…
The book. The Necronomicon, ancient Book of the Dead, written in human blood and gateway to evil worlds far beyond what you had to endure filming Jersey Shore. The thought of the book fills you with unspeakable terror, and you believe that keeping careful track of the book might be the key to not just your own survival, but that of all the decent people (and reality TV contestants) assembled here.
Accordingly, you have set up your camera to watch over the book at all times. If someone should take it from its perch, you will know it.
Good luck!
POWERS:
-
Each Night, you will leave your camera trained on the common room; during each Day, you will view and edit the footage, paying special attention to any activity concerning the Necronomicon. At the end of each Day, if someone has taken the Book of the Dead from its public spot, you will learn who took it. You will also note whether anyone deliberately passes the book to another during the Night (please note that there may be methods by which the book may find a new owner that you will not be able to witness). What you do with this information is entirely up to you.
-
You live in superstitious terror of the Necronomicon. As such, you are not permitted to take it or have it in your possession at any time. Should it be given to you, you will immediately return it to the common area.
I clarified with story that the ‘end of each Day’ phrase in Powers Part 1, should read beginning of each Day.
Here’s what I got at Dawn on Day 2:
And then at the Dawn of Day 3:
Of course there was nothing at the Dawn of Day 4.
I got no message nor a reply to my inquiries at the Dawn of Day 5, although I presume that was linked to **story’s **real life troubles.

I would strongly urge Total Lost to be included in that to-claim list, since being human doesn’t count for much right now.
I think we need to coordinate having Natlaw as our 2nd-place finisher, which should be easy enough to do. The key is making sure that everyone is voting Tom or Natlaw.
I’m looking specifically at you, Normal Phase. I see your point, but I think it’s overall a pro-Town thing to make sure that Natlaw is in 2nd place and Tom is lynched, and right now you’re impeding that.
If, as appears likely, Tom Scud is lynched toDay, we don’t know what will happen to the Book, do we? It might return to the pedestal, in which case your camera, USCDiver, could be extremely valuable. Or it might pass to someone else in some other way that your camera could see. This strikes me as a highly likely power to be useful in the near future, and I find it puzzling that you’d think you would get no useful info from here on out, just as it looks to be most useful.
Don’t worry about me, Drain Bead; I know when the deadline is.
As for Tom, my guess is he’ll give up the Book before he’s lynched. If he wants to help the town, he’ll give it to a probable townie; if he wants to help the scum, to a probable scum; and if he wants to be neutral, he’ll return it to the pedestal.
If the Book is not accounted for in the Dusk write-up, I suggest we do a census to see if anyone will claim to possess it.
Which was the power that NAF used, by the way?
I think NAF used Dread Darkness, which I was planning on keeping trained on you until you died, if it hadn’t been for that darned journalist.

Because **story **has told us the book is buried with a player if he is holding it when he dies. Although he said ‘these things have a way of turning up’, I can not presume to know what that means. I only get information if the book is taken from the pedestal or if it is deliberately passed from one player to another. I don’t see either of those things happening if **Tom **holds on to the book after his death.

You should have brought it up outright – yesterday when we were busy lynching a townie. You knew who had the Book, and everyone’s been assuming whoever that was could not be town. That is better than a guess, any day.
Put it this way – I don’t think you’re a townie yourself, OAOW. There is a HUGE flaw in your play right there.
There’s also that watching NAF under those circumstances was more likely to catch investigators than anything else (and it did), which makes it at least as scum-friendly a choice as a town-friendly one. Finding out someone’s role is also scum-friendly, though the choice was not, per se.
I didn’t want to out myself until I had used the police investigation, which i view as arguably my best power. I tried to use it on nights 2 & 3 but was thwarted by stuff both times. Then today, I had used it but had uncovered a doc, which made me reluctant to share again as I thought the doc was best left uncovered.
Then of course today proceeded to a claim and here we are.
OK.
- Total Lost should definitely claim - good catch. She can go after TexCat
- I think we’ve had confirmation that OAOW did what he said he did. I’m going to get a number for Natlaw which I’ll publish at Dusk. Hopefully Normal can check whether he’s been handing out his talismans.

I don’t think so. How many investigators get to catch more than one non-town in a single game? How many investigators, having caught one, deliberately allow a townie to be lynched in lieu of revealing their information (and I see so many different ways you could have downplayed your continued threat without lying or revealing your entire PM)? How many do it in order to get a single player’s role information (not even a particularly scummy one – in fact, I had been reading Natlaw as strongly town, though I admit I have a perspective on his behavior that some do not, having played scum with him before)? It’s just not believable.
You did what you said you did, that much seems clear, but I don’t think you’re town investigator.
