Evil Dead Mafia II - Teaser and Sign-Ups [Game On!]

I can’t find any post saying the number of scums.

Must have mixed this game with another I’m playing, or dreamed about this, or whatever. Yeah, yeah. I know how it looks.

OK, so they’re stuck in a claim of Ceiling Cat. What’s to prevent them from making up a power?

All of this at the risk of (potentially) exposing our power roles and (potentially) sacrificing our Vanilla.

I can tell you that I
a) get the difference
b) understand what the color-claim idea is really about
c) am getting really really suspicious of you pushing for it
I’m struggling with the reasons. I think that

  1. maybe you need to know certain roles to win as you’re some sort of PFK or hidden Scum
  2. you really want to make it easy for Scum (I know, I know, I’m not one to talk, but I’ve learned my lesson)
  3. there’s another reason I haven’t thought of

It’s Day 1, but this is enough to

Ugh!

Here’s the thought, as a Town player. Let’s say a protector, you have this choice:

  1. Find something in your PM that is innocent enough to not give away your power role at all
  2. Post something that might hint at your role of protector

Which will you choose?

Now, as Scum you have this choice:

  1. post something in a fake PM that is innocent enough to not give away any power role at all
  2. post something that hints at a specific power role

Isn’t everyone going to pick option 1?

And what have we gained? Nothing

But let’s say a PFK is looking for specific players much like the Serial Killer battle. This might help them. Or a Townie could slip and give up enough about their actual role.

I still remember it being an uphill battle to get that win. Of course, it was probably just an uphill battle to get everyone to follow along with my plan for discovering the Scum

I certainly would. Because this board has a history of giving new players the benefit of the doubt especially early in the game.

I think I’m finally caught up

Yeah, it really really does

@ Special Ed, what’s the probability that there are actually only 4 scum in this game? There were 6 in the original version with 3 fewer players so I’m not quite convinced that this is a case of PIS.

Depending on their powers and any potential PFKs, it’s possible. I have no idea how possible.

There could even be 2 Scum teams for all we know. There was the battle of the Serial Killers in the first game.

If it’s not PIS, why the simple assumption that there were 3 and now are 4?

Ha! And I may have just fallen for this.

Like I said, I don’t know how it got into my head that there was 3+1 scums, it’s probably a combination of playing too many games and other factors like me being tired or whatever. I can’t defend against this and obviously it’s going to get me lynched eventually unless someone would come up with knowledge about how many scums there is, from insider info in his role PM, which I doubt very much. The truth is that I’m a townie who’s screwed up by providing a good reason to being voted for.

PIS anyone?

4 Scum seems a little low for the numbers in this game, unless we have a substantial number of third-party/PFK types. That having been said, this seems like one of those slips that is MUCH more likely for Scum to make, so I’m comfortable changing my vote.

Looks like town, actually. I mean, it’s not a sure thing of course, and I don’t think you should be out of suspicion for it, but around here four scum is typical of 20 players, not 30.

But I seem to be in the minority.

Got a claim handy, Romanic?

Yeah, as I mentioned, that’s the one thing that is giving me pause. And if Romanic flips Town, I’m going to be giving Guiri a close examination based on my “people who point out PIS slips are more likely to be Scum” pet theory. But I can’t see a good reason why a Townie, even a n00b, would make a post involving how many Scum there are. Most people who didn’t know how many Scum there are would have said something like “the final Scum” in that construction.

Excuse me, Drain. Irrespective of Romanic’s alignment, she stated that there were orginally 3 scum who chose a 4th scum. Give me a reason why any Town player following th game would not question Romanic about it.

Agreed – that one was too damn obvious to fit the theory. Even a townie could see it, so to speak.

NETA: Romanic is a guy.

And using my dead time to add I really don’t want him to go down like this in his first game here, on a personal level. The disappointment will be only slightly eased if he actually is mafia. :frowning:

seriously? The only reason it was Guiri pointing it out was that he got there first. That post would always cause a veritable stampede of replies & votes.

My isn’t this a sticky wicket for Romanic? My intial thought was that 4 scum are much too few for a game of this size and I wanted to believe that Romanic may have actually just been thinking of a different game.

If that is the case, I’m pretty sure that at least one of those quick to vote for him is opportunistic scum that just found a good reason to place a vote on a townie.

However, there’s no reason to believe that this is a straight town vs scum game. There could be any number of PFKs or masons type roles. Maybe there are only 4 scum.

If this is the case, I would assume that there is going to be scum recruiting every night - or they have no chance of winning. And, if this is the case, Romanic obviously has to be lynched.

I guess there’s only one way to resolve this for certian
