I wonder if should actually be considered a success in advertising terms. I’ll bet at least a couple of participants in this thread actually checked out their web site and maybe even signed up just to see what the fuss is about.
Click ten times on all their adds you see and send the screens to new tabs which you them close. Will cost them (and earn SDMB money, if done here). Enough people do it, their budge will run out.
I’m very puzzled. Have you folks not heard of adblock?
Not always an option. My employer hasn’t even upgraded to IE7 yet!
Probably.
Probably not. You’d need a LOT of people doing that before you wipe their budget. But you could still earn the SDMB some cash, if you’re so inclined.
Yes, everyone knows that only ugly women know how to work the internet. Being attractive drains all the brains from a woman’s head! It’s a wonder how all those pretty women can even figure out how to brush their teeth in the morning.
Is there an actual verification function? If not, you’re a gullible idiot.
I just saw a new Evony ad last night that didn’t even mention that it was Evony! It just showed a pair of boobs in a bra, and a woman in the process of taking her shirt off. The button said something like, “Do you wish to play, My Lord?”.
And kudos to the nerd apologist.
While evidently there are human beings, male or female, that are not entirely without physicial handsomeness, it is a reasonable rule of thumb that most online gamers are largely in the social loser category. Expression (however gullible) of surprise that a number of user pics are attractive implies nothing regarding your idiotic reaction: that is it implies nothing regarding attractive women using the internet, nor a relationship between attractiveness and intelligence, nor even attractiveness and game playing as such.
All that was your reaction, evidently due to your equating intelligence to game playing (doubtless you play on line game), and attractive people’s use of internet in some illogical connection to nerdy game playing.
Without doubt, some percentage of internet people are both physically attractive and socially skilled, but it is also evidently a minority.
In other words, stop being so bloody fucking Internet Nerdy Offerderati Precious.

INOP (inoperative)
And beyond the stereotype you believe this because?
Looking at just the in-lined images in that forum thread I guess some could have been 'shopped to add the “Evony” lettering, but… they look pretty likely to be real.
It was originally called Civony. I guess some lawyers cough cough called them and informed them there is a game called Civilization…
