Green Bean, to sort of stay on track and to not get into a cagematch smackdown, I’ll stay with just one example and that was the line about opening threads based upon who wrote the OP. It struck me as terribly arrogant as in only people you like can ever have anything worthwile to say. But that is your prerogative, and calling you on that or making you explain yourself would be very arrogant of me. I also didn’t mean to give the impression that I was singling you out. I can say the same about 1/3 of the people on this board, and I’m sure many people feel the same way about me.
If I dragged people to the pit everytime I read something that I felt was stupid, insulting or hypocritical, I would become permanently attached to my keyboard like the space jockey in Alien, and have a six digit post count.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Opinions are like you know what. Whether or not they like a certain poster, fried food or ugly babies doesn’t automatically make them an asshole. That’s why I don’t pit people and also why I find the pit to be incredibly amusing reading. I love seeing poster A drag some poor slob in the pit because they voiced a less than stellar opinion of poster A, then a couple weeks later seeing poster A feel fully justified in voicing the same opinion of another person. To me, the pit is the comic strip section of this board.
Again, in my opinion I felt that this was handled much better than these type of issues normally are. Usually the accuser comes in on hands and knees begging for forgiveness for even thinking ill of someone, and/or the other person is holding a gun to their head demanding cites to make a person justify their ill thoughts. People are allowed to hold others in low regard without black and white justification. Too many people don’t believe in that concept. Bravo again for what struck me as an adult response, something that is somewhat rare around here.
Good Lord. I don’t think that’s arrogant at all. I know plenty of people that do it, and I do as well.
Thanks for the explanation, TurboDog. I was just really surprised to see that you said “…I generally disagree with 9.5 out of 10 things she has ever said…” given that most of what I post is pretty innocuous. Y’know, I’m imagining the following scenario:
Green Bean posts: “My favorite color is blue.”
TurboDog thinks: “I disagree! Her favorite color is red!” 
(But I guess you were exaggerating for emphasis.)
I just want to explain that it’s not a matter of which posters I “like” or “don’t like.” It’s more a matter of which posters tend to post on topics that I’m interested in. I don’t know Flamsterette_X from Adam, and I neither like nor dislike her. I feel pretty neutral about most people, both here and in real life. It takes a lot to earn my affection, and it takes a lot to earn my disdain.

I was sincerely hoping that when I came back here today this thread would be on page thirty-nine, but since it isn’t and I am therefore not bumping it, I would like to add something I meant to say last night [sub]in one of the thirty thousand posts I made in this thread[/sub] but neglected to include.
I would like to say that I appreciate VERY MUCH Green Bean’s gracious acceptance of Flam’s apology. You are a class act, lady! Or vegetable, whichever you prefer.
