Based on the number of reported bombs it seems like more than one person had to be involved.
NY Post claims a Saudi national is the suspect.

Yeah, me too. At this point, I’m prepared to believe there’s a Saudi man in the hospital with injuries, but I’m not placing bets on whether he is *a *suspect, *the *suspect, or just another poor victim who’s about to get slandered in the news.
Fox News (I just checked) has the same numbers as CNN and the NY Times.
So glad to see that everyone’s loved ones are reporting back safe and sound. Keeping fingers crossed that it stays that way.
Is there a suspect in custody, or not?

Husband is watching Fox (our local) and they’re saying the same stuff as the other networks (ABC, NBC, CBS).
The fact that the suspect is identified as a Saudi makes me feel he’s unlikely to be guilty of anything more than being of the wrong nationality in the wrong place at the wrong time.
My friend who is a cop working at the finish line is safe, still waiting to hear from a few other runners.
Don’t know how credible it is, but I’ve seen more than one article that says they have a suspect in custody already and he isn’t an American. I don’t want to link to the piece because there is a photo of the poor man in the wheelchair, but you can find a link at the top of the Drudge Report.
…its a mass casualty event. You do what you can with what you have.
They are all probably getting the same news from the same sources as everyone else is at this point. I’ve been checking CNN, and they seem to be behind the curve from some of the tweets I’ve been seeing and other news sources some 'dopers are providing.
Fox is now reporting that a “person of interest” in custody at hospital. They are soft pedalling – saying it could be a victim, too.
No need to jump to conclusions on the suspect or getting on a high horse damning the media etc.
Let it play out. The NY Post will look like clowns if it turns out to be wrong.
Yeah, that seems unlikely to me, but I guess we’ll find out. I’ve seen a couple of tweets about this, but they all seem extremely speculative to be honest, and my BS detector is going off.
Boston is, for the moment at least, [a no-fly zone.
Humanity has never been short of people who think their own grievances or frustrations justify killing strangers who have nothing to do with them or their problems. We’ll get the specifics eventually.
As far as a larger plot or more killings goes, I’m somewhat relieved by the report that these don’t seem to have been very sophisticated bombs.
BBC now reports “Boston police confirm third incident at JFK Library and are treating it as though it is connected”
According to MGH, 6 of the 22 injured are in critical condition, hope that count doesn’t go up any. Thoughts are with fellow runners, spectators and anyone else who had the misfortune to assume they could go about their business without some lunatic trying to blow them up.

The NY Post is a horrible rag. No other outlet seems to be reporting this, and in addition, the NY Post is STILL saying 12 dead/50 injured, instead of every other outlet saying 2-3 dead/22-25 injured.
So take anything they report with several large grains of salt.
Yeah, having a suspect is far from having the guy who did it. Ask Richard Jewell.
