ABC just ran explosion footage with sound. It’s horrifying.
MSNBC is reporting that other unexploded devices have been found.
My god, I hope everyone who is still waiting to hear from people hear soon and that they are ok. This is just horrific.
My brother ran this a year ago. I don’t know if he was in again this year. ETA: but he’d probably have finished before the explosions anyway, unless the marathon is so big that it takes middle of the packers a half an hour to cross the start line.

Reports are that the fire at the JFK Library were caused by an electrical problem, and not by an explosion. Weird coincidence, if so.
Can you imaging the kind of guts it took that cop to run towards the explosion while the smoke was still coming out?? Unreal. That’s really horrifying, especially with the screams. I’m having trouble holding it together here at work. 
There are three starting waves; wave 1 leaves at 10:00, wave 2 at 10:20, and wave 3 at 10:40. The faster runners start first, the slowest runners are the last wave.
No - Boston Police Commissioner stated it was another device at a press conference - they’re treating it as connected to the others.
People from all over the world ran the Boston Marathon. A multinational event ruined by terrorists. I’m so thankful nothing happened at the Olympics.

Watching TV - NBC is saying more than 100 people are being treated after the explosions. But they also pointed out that a great many are what would be considered “minor.”

Now MSNBC is retracting that and saying that it was some sort of unrelated problem.
Since the press conference the Boston Police have tweeted that it was a fire. I think there’s too much information flowing to be sure of anything yet.

Yeah, it’s the fog of war…just like on 9/11, no one really knows what’s going on or has all the pieces, so isolated folks are speculating in different directions, or making connections that aren’t there…or, hell, the press is just making stuff up because they know people are riveted to the story.
Just found out that one of the remaining runners I was tracking is OK - found out via the Google people finder.
