Don’t worry, the conspiracy theorists have that covered. He was an ex-army crisis actor, remember? :smack:
On a serious note, though, I’m surprised/impressed that he remembered the guy. Most people caught in explosions that I have seen interviewed say they remember nothing of the blast.
I heard Kyrgyzstan.
Has somebody already posted this?
This whole thing is almost like a script for a bad Bruce Willis movie. A bombing, the bombers are brothers (and Chechnyan), they rob a 7-11, murder a college campus cop, steal a car, get chased by police while lobbing explosives at them, get into a shootout, one dies, the other escapes, and now Boston is on total lockdown. It is so surreal.
If it were a Bruce Willis movie, the police wouldn’t show up until just after the bombers were killed with extreme prejudice (and a snappy one-liner).
Everything I’m reading about these two, the older brother at least, seems to have been a world-class asshole.
Sorry, that’s correct.
I was thinking more along the lines of 24.
My Facebook feed had that picture this morning noting background on the gentleman in the cowboy hat. What he is holding between his fingers is the man in the wheelchair’s artery. According to the information, man in cowboy hat lost one son in the war and another to suicide from depression over his brothers death…don’t know how accurate, it was one of those picture feeds that displays current pictures in the news.
That is accurate. More information on this man.
Creepy coincidence that the one guy’s name is kind of pronounced “Joker.”
Does anyone recall a city (or 5) being locked down due to a manhunt before? In the US?
Cowboy Hat’s name is Carlos Arredondo. Lots of stories about him the last couple days.
Planting bombs to kill & maim innocent people should by itself qualify anyone for that title.
He appears to be located, police slowly closing in. I hope he resists arrest.
The K isn’t pronounced.
What exactly does “lockdown” mean here? Are people being ordered not to leave their homes?
I think they are, yes. There are no cabs and mass transportation is shut down, too.
From the reports I’ve heard, yes, the authorities have issued some kind of “shelter in place” order for the entire city.
Yes. Businesses and schools told not to open for the day. People on their way to work told to go home. People at home told to stay there and lock up. All transit systems shut down. No cars allowed in or out.
