Tacky? These people have had terrorists with guns and bombs in their neighborhood all day. They are expressing their gratitude to the police.

I haven’t read this whole thread, but that ASSHOLE aunt in Toronto needs to be investigated.
Apparently, he was taken in a cop car, not an ambulance. Unless that report was wrong.
Either way, he’s already at Mt Auburn Hospital.
I know, it just seems like it would be more solemn.

Nah, she’s trying to make sense of the insanity going on around her. Not a great response, but understandable.
We heard the choppers and sirens, my friends a little closer to the scene heard the gunshots. Apparently the 19-year old was friends with the kid upstairs from me (they were in homeroom together at CRLS) and was probably in my house a few times in the past 2 years. That’s something I really didn’t expect to hear.
I’m surprised the police initially missed this guy in the boat. They had even given the all clear for residents to leave their homes. That’s when the homeowner spotted the blood on his boat and looked inside.
It doesn’t sound like the suspect was in any shape to go anywhere. They’re reporting he’s in pretty bad shape. That probably saved that homeowner’s life.

Eh. Let them express their gratitude to the police that put themselves in harms way and ended this terrifying situation for these people. Let them be happy for five minutes
If I understand correctly, the cops had already searched the area. So it was “clear” and then the suspect snuck back in.

Wasn’t a woosh, I didn’t know that. It was weird since everyone else was standing and I googled pictures of him to make sure he wasn’t missing legs or something, so that was really odd to imagine he was sitting

On the day of the marathon he was in the hospital and left the hospital when the bombing occurred.
And while he has been quite sick in the recent past, he was in the hospital (and a wheelchair) because he broke his lower leg last week.
