And I’m thinking, why on earth of all people did this guy get put in a wheelchair instead of a stretcher like a lot of other people in the footage I’ve seen today?
I’m also wondering if he’s one of the two (so far) that died.

Third explosion confirmed at JFK Library by Boston Police Commissioner.
The report I saw was wrong.
Me either…some of the stuff I have, accidentally, seen so far are bad enough. I’ve heard some (unconfirmed) reports that they have a suspect, though that seems pretty quick.
According to the Boston Police, it was an explosive device at JFK library.

Live statement from Boston Police Commissioner on CNN now. Says there was a third explosion at JFK library, and they are treating it as related to the other two bombs.
Nobody else is reporting anything like that.
I’m real anxious to get updates on people I know at the race. 1 person finally checked in .2 miles from the finish. 1 friend checked in being 1/4 mile on the sidewalk.
3 friends running haven’t responded to texts yet…

I hope this is true. It’s poetic justice if the perpetrator was injured by his own explosive. And I’m going to restrain my self and just say that I hope he is prosecuted to the fullest extent of all commonwealth and federal laws that may apply.

Unreal. What sort of wanker or group of wankers would do this? Dreadful for the runners and the volunteers.
Truly horrible scenes.
Panicking people dropped bags and purses while fleeing; now, the BPD has to treat each and every abandoned parcel as a potential explosive.
Huge logistical hassle, but I’m not clear what could have been done differently.
