Me too, I love spoof films with a passion. The “movie” genre seems to be getting a bit stale now though, the Airplane and Naked Gun films were much better.
(Just thinking about the bit in Naked Gun 1 where Prisilla Presley is being held at gun point by the villain so Nielson pulls some random woman out of the crowd and puts a gun to her head saying “Two can play at that game” is making me laugh myself silly in the office.)
I watched Reno 911 again yesterday, and I will watch it every time it rolls around while on cable. I’m packing for a move , and it’s the perfect background noise. Caught There’s something About Mary yesterday, too. Boy, was I glad I was packing up the room with the TV!
Two of mine have already been taken – Zoolander and Happy Gilmore just crack me up way more than they should.
I’m not sure this one is extremely stupid, but when I saw Beavis and Butthead Do America, I left the theatre in pain from laughing. I remember telling my brothers, “I’m ashamed by how much I liked that movie.”
“Don’t stop till you feel the backs of their teeth!”
During the Olympic coverage you don’t know how many times I’ve been waiting for Bob Costas to mention that the lord must surely have it in for someone…
Ace Ventura Pet Detective ** still cracks me up.
Of course there are the Will Farrell classics:
**
Anchorman
Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
Blades of Glory
not to mention Old School and Weding Crashers
The Apatow movies (I don’t think I’ve ever seen a trailer for one of his movies and didn’t say “that looks fucking stupid”): 40 Year Old Virgin
Knocked Up
Superbad
Zoolander
and finally the Broken Lizard classics: Super Troopers
Beerfest
(unfortunately I saw **Club Dread ** first and it took me over five years to see another BL movie)
Well, stupidity in a comedy isn’t really a problem for me at all; indeed, pretty much the opposite applies. Thus cautioned, you can perhaps read my list of twenty movies which never fail to bring me to the point of almost pissing my pants with sheer meat-head laughter, with a proper degree of understanding.

Apparently, there are many people who consider those movies stupid. They are all wrong, though. Funny is what those movies are.
Another vote for Spaceballs, and, for that matter, just about any Mel Brooks spoof movie. Nobody does stupid as well as Mel Brooks, but Mike Meyers can sometimes challenge him.
I was once bet $20 that I could not sit through all of Date Movie. I lost that bet, and then gave that same bet to my brother, who ALSO lost the bet. It’s pretty much the most unbearable movie I’ve ever seen (I did eventually finish it after 2 more sessions).
I vaguely remember Epic Movie…wasn’t that the one that had Borat in it who not only wasn’t funny (he just quoted the original movie word for word) but wasn’t even EPIC?
As for me, another vote for Tommy Boy. “No, it was cordless” has gotta be my favorite stupid movie line ever.
