Facebook - choose English (pirate) as your language

I mentioned this in another thread but with the new Facebook there’s an option at the bottom of the screen to change your language to English (pirate). It changes many of the heading and descriptions to ‘pirate’ style, it’s kinda fun but it’s not real obvious the option is there. Give it a try.

Pfft. English(Pirate)? Lame-oid. Now, setting Google to Bork Bork Bork ( the language of the Swedish Chef, from the Muppets)… now that’s cool.

Arrr, I was schemin’ to post about this and I find that the ship set sail seven months ago. Shiver me timbers!

Oh, well, might be worth bumping in case I’m not the only one out of the loop on this and the Bork Bork Bork thing.

Bork.

I’ve had Pirate Facebook for months now. Hasn’t gotten old yet, although occasionally I can’t figure out what the standard English translation is.

Aye, this one be new to a FB landlubber like I!! Me hearty thanks, to ye who unearthed this treasure!

Only downside is it’s rekindled love for pirate-speak, once presumed dead by the end of the movies.

As I’m in back in India, I’m predicting many a confused look…

So do your friends see the pirate speak, or just you?

Haha. They replace the ‘Poke ____’ on your friends pages with 'Prod _____ with your dagger"

Anyone else as amused by this as I am?

I have my Facebook set to Bulgarian. I’m afraid I’m forgetting it, so it’s good to see it just a bit every day. I set it to Pirate for a bit the other day, and it was amusing, but in the end I changed it back to Bulgarian.

My junior high students are awed by my coolness of piratyness.
