Thanks. Actually it wasn’t the nightmare per se, but my boyfriend was a bit flippant about the whole thing, and that hurt my feelings somewhat. I didn’t complain because it seemed silly to be so sensitive about a stupid dream, but when I woke up in the middle of the night I was so agitated it took me awhile to calm down (that’s what he was teasing me about).
I’m over it now, more or less - I just need a good night’s sleep.
G’morning all, I’m up and caffeinating, even though it is a holiday here.
FCM, I’m looking at one of the covered pieces, but haven’t decided which one yet! Heh, to be truthful, I also like one of the stripey bowls!
Chicken white chili is being made in the crock pot today. I’ll start it out in a bit. It’s nice to have the crock pot and put it to good use. I think I’ll probably make a batch of beef barley soup some time this week too. Yum!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. Goin’ in to work a bit later this mornin’ just cause. Well, just cause I worked from one yesterday afternoon until eleven pm, so I figure that’s reason enough. I just woke up and got my first cuppa to sip on. Nuttin’ like havin’ cawfee all ready to brew, walkin’ in the kitchen, turnin’ it on, goin’ to pee then walkin’ back in the kitchen and pourin’ a cup. Modern appliances, ain’t they wonders!
Nice stuff MOOOOOOM! I have a cherished FCM original piece that holds change sittin’ upon my dresser.
Ok, guess I need some more caffiene and should consider some brekkies and work purtification.
Tonight is men’s night at church. Ol’ y’all know who has the daunting task of bringin’ our steaks and beer so’s I can go right from work. He can handle it though.
I love all of your work, fcm! I wish I had room but I am bursting at the seams myself. It’s probably a good thing that I don’t have a crafty hobby. As it is, all of my mother’s paintings are under the guest bed and I don’t have any idea what to do with them.
I have such a fun day planned. Mop the floor and then see if I can find some new foundation makeup that will magically transform me to look twenty years younger. Any mumper ladies with recommendations???
haze, mens just don’t get that kind of stuff so don’t be too hard on the lad.
OK, all you people who are decluttering, knock it off!! How am I supposed to get rid of *my *clutter if you won’t take it?!? Now, I’ll admit some of it isn’t my primo work. In fact, things I’m pretty sure will sell were held back. And no, I’m not mercenary - all proceeds from stuff I sell is sent to the local women’s shelter. I figured if my hobby can benefit someone else, yay!
I don’t know about postage to Australia, but a friend of my daughter’s sent us a box full of sweets from England, and the postage was something over ₤42, which I’m sure is way more than she spent on the treats. My Secret Santa gift went to Switzerland, and the postage was more than the cost of the gift.
So anyway, back to my original thought - I don’t care about your petty decluttering efforts - take my crap… er… works of art! * <sigh>* Sheesh.
I’m in a remarkably good mood this morning because I had a remarkably good sleep last night. I turned off the TV before 11, and fell asleep to the sounds of Ziva batting a little plastic ball around its track, and I woke sometime after 6 to the jingle of Scruffy’s rabies tag. That’s the longest uninterrupted sleep I’ve had in weeks!
**FCD **is going in to the office for a while, and Daughter is going to do some prep work in her classroom. SIL will be going to work later today, after he takes the trash to the dump. As for me, I get to clean cat hork stains all over the carpet. I need to remove all of the chairs from the dining room and a few pieces from the other rooms. I also get to do laundry. Envy me my housewifely life… I may even clean the kitchen floor. Oh yeah, good times.
All I have to do is get started. Yeah, I’ll get on that right away. Happy Monday!
I’m decluttering too, but exceptions are made for handmade items from friends. So, there!
Sorry about the nightmare, Haze.
I woke up at 6:00 and successfully fell asleep again and didn’t wake up until almost 8:30. Yay!!! Knitting is put away so as not to distract me and I am about to do a big clean-up.
I haz a dae off too, but only because I didn’t sleep from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. I thought about drifting in, but I don’t think that’ll be a good idea. I think my body was saying, “Yo bitch take a day off!”
Howdy all. Nice knick-knacks FCM, but I think the international postage would be a bit too much, especially since even if the postal workers didn’t turn it into mosaic pieces, HRH probably would in short order.
In good news, HRH slept until 6:30am today! Woo and Hoo!!! Fingers crossed for a repeat performance tomorrow morning!
Puggy, from the last thread, yes, hubby did ask me about buying the watch (not so much for permission, but whether I thought he should buy it or not), but I told him it was his money to spend! As for the bag, I think I like this one!
In other good news, apparently our new housework fairy should arrive on Friday.
We had leftover poppyseed cheesecake for breakfast. It was yummy! All gone now, though… sniff
SmartyPants, I think I’d wake up right quick if my coffee cup looked like that in the morning.
Cute bag, Dotty, though mightn’t it be a little small? Then again, I carry my whole life with me when I leave the house, so I tend to buy very large purses that will fit two books and my wallet and my Blackberry and my handcream and and and and… (I get downright antsy when I go to a fancy event and have to confine myself to what will fit in a clutch… and even so, my all-purpose dressup purse is pretty freakin’ huge for a clutch)
OK, time to get dressed in something presentable… I’ve got a brunch date with the Angry Russian and her boy.
I’m carefully considering which **FCM **original I want. I’ll let you know.
I’m with you on trying to figure out what to do with crafts though. That was one of the reasons I stopped doing cross-stitch. I didn’t really want any of it hanging in my house - too cutesy most of the time - and I figured no one else did either. So other than baby bibs, how much can you really do and give away?
My church collects and gives out knitted “prayer shawls” so once I’m through my scarf binge, I’ll start making shawls and will know they always have a home. I got more than half way through an alpaca scarf for myself over the weekend. It’s knitting up really quickly. It’s lavender color and I’m doing a k1 yo k2tog pattern, which is really neat because it doesn’t look anything like other things I’ve knitted. It’s not like stockinette or garter stitch at all. Really cool. Plus it’s *super *soft.
Food seems to disappear at work pretty well, but it is pretty clear how well people like something based on how quickly it disappears. I made baklava over the weekend and will bring some of it in after lunch. I expect that will go pretty quickly.
Unrelated to crafts, Lily the cat almost caught a mouse this weekend. She’s been demanding to go outside for days despite the cold and has been staring at the space under some flower boxes. I figured there had to be something under there, and on Saturday while she was outside, we heard squeaking. I didn’t pay attention because I was in the middle of making truffle filling, but KT ran outside to see what the noise was and saw her with the mouse, batting it around. He startled the cat and she let go of the mouse and it got away, but it was still quite an achievement for her. She’s never gotten anything larger than a grasshopper, and when we had the hamster, she never showed any signs of aggression towards him so we thought her hunting instincts were a bit lacking. But apparently not! She’s not going to be allowed anywhere near the gerbils after this!
Hmm, I’ve thought about decluttering some of the purses I’m not entirely pleased with. Sometimes you think the colors/patterns will look great right up until it’s actually sewed, and then it’s just…off, somehow. Of course, sometimes the ones I’m not really happy with are the first ones people gravitate to, so what do I know?
I don’t have pics of a lot of my inventory, but a representative sample can be seenhere.
Haven’t been able to look at stuff, will try to from the hotel.
I’ve got the grrrs cos of mods leaving and Sapo being banned  and I’ve been told to play nice with Sheboss. Blagh. It would be nice if we could solve things through, dunnow… a game of parcheesi? The winner gets her way, aye? I realize it’s less visually entrancing than a catfight, though.
::sigh:: I’ve gotten caught in the middle of a big cluster f*** at work. It really has nothing to do with me. I wish both sides would talk to each other and leave me the hell alone! GRRRRRRRRRR.
Muppet, my everyday handbag usually contains my wallet (which is like this, but black), my Blackberry, my mobile phone, a purse-pack of tissues, my work ID/swipe card, cigarettes and lighter, Tic Tacs and lip balm. So, I think that bag should be just the right size! I used to be into big handbags, but nowadays (especially on weekends) I also have to tote a toddler backpack (with nappies/diapers, wipes, snacks, water and change of clothes) and occasionally a grumpy toddler, so I just don’t have the urge to carry loads of my own stuff around as well!
CrazyCatLady, I agree with jsgoddess - the green paisley with pink floral is gorgeous!
