FairyChatPots – a MMP ceramics giveaway, and stuff.

I is up. I is at work. I is needing caffeine.

Actually, I have been awake since about 1am and I’m feeling pretty grim today. I shall join rigs in the Grrr Corner because I have grrr too. I am so tired at the moment, I’ve even turned down the offer of beerverages tonight.

I think I wouldn’t have the patience to deal with Sheboss, Nava. And I have a boss who sometimes requires extreme doses of patience.

Hope the grrr subsides, rigs and BooFae. Is it too early for chocolate?

Went to bed relatively early (11:30) and woke up at 5:30 in a state of extreme awakeness. Well, I tried. (I wanted to sleep until at least 6:30.) :frowning:

Guess I should consider getting moving.

GT

Thanks for the compliments about Nat. We think he’s adorable, too.

I need caffeine, too.

Glad you agree about Dean, Spaz. Those books are so much darker than the Anne ones. I wonder if Montgomery intended Dean to be quite so horrible?
I have a loaf of stale garlic foccacia. Ideas for using it up?

Blurf.

There was another call last night I didn’t take that is/was almost as funny as the rabid beaver. The husband of one of our frequent flyers put too much Poligrip in her dentures, which then got stuck, and she had a hard time breathing.

It took three guys and assorted hand tools to get them out of the poor woman’s mouth.

I’m wracking my brain for ideas on appropriate cake decorations to pay homage to this. Any ideas on how to make choppers and vise-grips out of cake frosting?

Bobbio, I’d just just splatter some frosting on the Jaws of Life and call it done.

Here you go.

For a  time, go to Cake Wrecks and search for the “Oh Mama” cake. That image came up while I was searching. I say again,.

Morning.

A slight bit more motivation this morning, but I still have no clue as to how I’m supposed to do what I need to do. I have a couple of ideas, though…

Hubby leaves town today. :frowning:

The House at Grrr Corner is sorta like the House at Pooh Corner except Eeyore is off his meds and Christopher Robin has anger issues. There are too many Bears of Very Little Brain here and annoyingly perky Piglets as well.

Stale garlic foccacciiccicicooa (can’t ever spell that word)–cube it and toast it for croutons, baby! Or make soup and use it as a “lid”.

SheBoss sounds horrid, Nava. Does she only come with this assignment? I hope so! I have no advice for Tadpole–tadpoles are essentially fodder for larger aquatic carnivores…
I am off to: grocery, pharmacy, gas station etc. Then home to spend the day with TH who is home 24/7 now. Kill me now–it’s a mercy.
Es regnet draussen. Bah.

Bwahahaha! Thanks for the early morning laugh!

Is communion usually a part of Ash Wednesday service? I’m on the communion-preparation committee (I’m really not sure how I got roped in… I need to learn to say no better.), and I don’t know if I need to buy bread and stuff. And get to church early to set it up. Yeah, I could call the people who I work with on this stuff, but that would mean using the phone and I hate the phone. Surely Dopers know the answer, right?

I have no projects at one of my works right now.

looks around furtively

Time to thesisize! I want this thing DONE SOON.

Hi folks. Yucky stomach bug past couple of days. Feels like I’m digesting glass- crampy and sharp pains. Eating helps briefly, then it feels worse- so no food for me.

Plus now a have a rash on my back.

Icky.

Spaz- write thee a thesis!

Blurf.

I second the motion of focaccia croutons. They’d probably be quite tasty on that broccoli-potato soup thing, no?

{{Soapy}} Does flat ginger ale help, at least? I hope you’re staying hydrated, young lady.

Nava, I don’t suppose it would be a good idea to whap Sheboss on the head, right? Even though she’s being totally asshatted? I know consultants are supposed to be all diplomatic, efficient and graceful, but I’m sure in this case you’d be allowed to slip up just for a second.

It’s started snowing again this morning, and rather heavily at that. I thought we were done with snow… even the giant pile of the stuff that was sitting on my lawn had finally melted away, for chrissakes.

In other news, I’m tired, cranky, six different kinds of pissed off, and would much rather be home instead of at work.

We have a database that has the word “prestage” in its name. And every time I see it, I think it says “prestige.” And I wonder why that one database is more prestigious than all the others. :smack:

Can I start an IV?

Second chapter is done. Am now eyeing third chapter suspiciously.

A comic for CanineServant.

Am back from grocery and pharmacy. Am poor. Hate spending money, even on food. Am sure will be an odd old lady, saving bits of string and resembling Scrooge. Am ok with that…

Must go work on colonial village. Need motivation. Ta.

rigs, MmmmMmm…Caesar salad and focaccia croutons.

Awesome chopper cake, Spaz. Quite the giggle. Two thumbs up for Chapter 2 done!

Nat is made of 100% cute, that’s for sure LiLi. Great smile on your little guy!

We’re supposed to have 4 days of sunshine starting today. It feels like spring when you’re in the sun but it’s still dang nippy in the shade.

My kitty-sitting services were not required yesterday. :frowning: The painters were ahead of schedule by yesterday afternoon, probably because they didn’t expect us to have removed so much of their furniture. Boxer sure wanted into our bedroom but he settled for under the bed in the spare room, after he finished scoping out the place for intruders and meowing at his reflection in the bathroom mirror. JoJo made her rounds, lounged in a sunbeam on our deck, and eventually settled in for a nap beside me on the couch.

Still waiting to hear back on blood tests, other than a call from an admin saying “doctor left a note for you to have another CBC in a month’s time”. Aaaaand?!? I’ll be picking up the phone if I don’t hear from them by mid-afternoon.

Laundry day today, boo. I suppose I’ll drag the vacuum around too, judging by the amount of detritus on the kitchen floor. Yikes!

I’m gonna leave early. I gots me nothin’ to do. I’ve already
*finished the last of the revisions on the second chapter
*put the intro and both chapters into a single word file to see how long it is (37 pages)
*glanced over the draft of the third chapter
*said harsh words to myself about the terrible all-over-the-placeness of chapter 3
*outlined a new third chapter
*ate lunch

I’m gonna go to the teashop in a while, get my pot of Earl Gray and plan out my reading schedule. Chapter 3 will be done by Spring Break. Then it’s conclusion time and send-to-committee time.

One day I’ll have another topic of conversation. I wonder what that will be like?

I see you’re already cutting back on those pricey pronouns.
