This made my husband switch from not going to watch Heroes to watching it this year, which will probably mean that I’ll be watching it, too. Drat that tiny blonde chick!
When is that supposed to start, do you know? I couldn’t find it on HBO’s site. I like the books, by Charlaine Harris, that the show is based on.
House, KVille (I’ll check it out anyway), Kitchen Nightmares, Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader, Power of Ten, 1 vs. 100, Wife Swap, Desperate Housewives, Extreme Makeover - Home Edition, Cops.
If husband isn’t around, add Medium and Ghost Whisperer.
DVD? Kristen Bell is also doing the narration for the CW’s Gossip Girl, which I plan to try. I’m going to watch Reaper, Bionic Woman, and Pushing Daisies, and I swear there were at least two more new shows I wanted to watch, but I can’t remember which ones. I’m sure I’ll remember right before they premiere and all the publicity hits.
Towards the end of September iirc. It was in the tv guide last week, I can dig it out. I kept it for that very reason (Mom checked off a bunch of shows she wanted to check out or thought I’d be interested in).
Scrubs, House, Earl and Cold Case. I also want to check out Journeyman.
I watched the Kyle XY marathon, capped by the new season finale. I guess I’m in for another season. All that dreary teenage angst got really annoying after about three hours, though. They keep peeling back layers of Kyle and Metacorp. The Tregers are evolving as a family, too.
I’ll be there for House, Monk, and Burn Notice. I keep having the feeling Burn Notice is going to run out of material soon. Monk is still a masterpiece.
I’ll definitely be watching Kitchen Nightmares, and I’ll probably try to catch Reaper and Pushing Daisies.
I’ll be avoiding the Caveman show. Some people at work are so excited about it though…I won’t be able to avoid hearing about it.
I agree. Where is Burn Notice going to go once Michael figures out who burned him and why? Meanwhile, I’m really liking the series.
Unfortunately, there was some kind of mix up with the scheduling last week, and the DVR didn’t record it (USA “said” it was going to be on at 1am - so that’s when the DVR taped - L&O SVU) Is the episode on line anywhere yet?
So I jsut spent several minutes at the big 4’s websites looking at upcoming shows, and the ones I KNOW I’ll be watching are:
Heroes
Scrubs
My Name is Earl
House
Lost
24 (though the last two aren’t new until…January?)
Journeyman (interesting concept, plus it’s right after Heroes.)
The ones that seem interesting and I might watch:
New Amsterdam
Moonlight (probably horribly bad, but it’s about vampires, so I’ll watch at least the first one or two episodes.)
Chuck (right before heroes, so in the interest of not having to change the channel at ALL that night, I’ll give it a go.)
The Sarah Conner Chronicles.
That last one…I don’t know. I guess it takes place between Terminator 2 and Terminator 3? I never saw the third one, so I don’t know if anything that happened in there would “nullify” the TV series and this is a big ol’ ret-con like Enterprise was, but it has Summer Glau, so I will be watching for at least a little while.
I’ll try most of the new sitcoms.
I’ll try Bionic Woman.
I’ll try Reaper.
I’ll stick with the NBC Thursday night sitcoms and How I Met Your Mother.
Last night I tried the *Caveman *trailer online. It was horrible. I still might try it, but I’m doubting it will be good.
Old faves:
Supernatural
House
Heroes
Bones
Prison Break (but I need to get thru the Season 2 DVDs first)
Returnign shows I’ll try:
Friday Night Lights
Jericho
New shows I’ll try:
Reaper
The vampire one
The guy who doesn’t age until he finds his true love one
I hadn’t heard anything about Burn Notice, maybe I’ll check it out.
It was a rerun. None of the USA shows were on because of Tennis. Are Monk, Psych and Burn Notice going to be around for the fall? I thought they wouldn’t be back until January.
What’s this one called?
Monk and Psych have two new episodes each before going into reruns until January. Burn Notice has two more episodes, the second one being the season finale on September 20. It has been renewed for a second season, which will air next summer.
My guess is that he will get the chance to have the burn notice cleared, but he will be forced to decline in order to save someone’s life or some other noble reason.
New Amsterdam (the one where he doesn’t age until he finds his true love)
ETA: But I just read that it is now being held as a mid-season replacement and will not air until 2008.
New Amsterdam. On hold until January though.
Is Scrubs really in that tough a position? I thought they consistently had good ratings, NBC has finally put it in a decent spot, and it’s the last season anyways (at least with Zach Braff). It’s not at risk of being canceled, is it?
Football, for sure.
The only show I always watch is House, though if I can I’ll catch Monk as well. I didn’t think Heroes was going to last past a half-season when I first heard about the show, so I didn’t bother to watch…now I’d have to play catch-up to know what was going on. I think that’s one of my larger regrets about TV viewing, that I didn’t get in on Heroes or Lost from the beginning.
Sadly, I can say the same about 24, which I may have to just bite the bullet and start BBustering the DVD sets.
It’s not a network show, but I do enjoy Little People, Big World when I catch it.
Over at TWOP they’re saying that filming was just getting started, but if TV Guide says it’s coming this fall – who knows? If it’s not coming this fall, then I could dump my HBO until January.
Anyone know if New Amsterdam is based on Pete Hamill’s book, Forever? The main character was immortal as long as he stayed on Manhattan Island.
