Falling Into The MMP

It’s okay-ish, but probably a bit overpriced. Any foaming cleanser will do the same .. I think there’s a blue one that’s not so :money_mouth_face: … still gotta scrub, but the hard-water stains come off a bit easier.

I had a whole post about the insurance paperwork, but imma keep it outta the MMP. { pats cushion } come join me in the Pit?

If you think 91F days are Autumn, perhaps you might check your science books.

Used to be the same for me. Now with climate change I’m thinking that winter starts when the highs are lower than 40, spring when the highs get into the 60’s regularly, summer when the highs are in the high 70’s at a minimum, fall when the highs are in the 50’s regularly.

I wish I could hang laundry out on the line rather than on the lines in the basement but Hubs’ allergies preclude that.

Aack, please don’t tempt fate.

Hubs was a science major and this is what he’s explained to me; it’s because the trees are stressed which very low moisture does.

yanker enjoyed reading about Operation Hornet Hunter; were you an English major?

did you hit the bottle heavily before you typed this?

Nut a stove needs sweeping? Do tell.

agreed, when I first signed in at 1pm there were already 35 posts.

BF tells me this has to do with how long the daylight lasts, as sunset comes earlier and earlier, the hens lay less and less. She stops sharing with me generally in November until about March.

I don’t know what brand Swampy buys; we buy Stouffer’s

Since I didn’t get to bed until 12:30am, I set alarm for 6:30ish; was slow to get up and get going so the chickens were definitely clucking and wondering where their breakfast was. When I checked the coop :egg: :egg: :egg: I also took a dozen eggs out of BF’s refrigerator and took them to the food pantry; she had about 4 dozen in there so she is fine with the donation. I’ll do it again on Wednesday.

Work went very smoothly; finished recording the 3 days of transactions at 10:59; deadline is 11am. Had ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayo sandwich on DKB toasted then some cookies and milk. Watched my soaps and mmp’d. Need to start working on dinner which will be the rollup cheesy meatloaf with broccoli and NOT, probably mashed.

bright tree The goal is to rehab Ariel to our previous level. She’s done no work for 9 weeks, so we have to inch our way into fitness. Yesterday was warm and muggy and neither one of us was interested, but I felt obliged to do five minutes. Then we both called to quit and she had a bath and went back outside.

I realized that my teevee is controlled by the remote issued by the cable company. I had had to do some digging, but I found a replacement remote for the television. Fingers crossed that it works.

Creatinine levels look much better. It’s amazing what having your blood drawn not on the day after a 2.5 hour hot yoga session can do.

Oh, we’ll be mowing the lawn at least through February, then picking up again in Aprilish.

Excellent news!

And a late-afternoon visit, calories have been exercised and I am proud to say I opened a Pint of Butter Pecan ice cream and only ate 1/4 of it as planned (OK, might have been closer to 1/3, but I didn’t eat the whole pint). Will allow Freddy’s steakburgers to take care of dinner tonight in a bit and slothage will occupy the remainder of the evening.

Bright Tree, wouldn’t mind some of that weather here (93F right now). Thanks for the good vibes, it’s fine right now without shoes on and no pressure walking, but the treadmill is getting harder to do. Hope Ollie adjusts to the kids before you get a laundry bill. Hope Pond Guy can come up with a solution that stays in-budget and works for you.

FCM, happy drying out. And a couple of fast-food places around here do crinkle-cut fries, I rather like them that way.

Cat Glove, for me Winter starts when I don’t have to mow the lawn anymore. And fall really starts when the AC can be turned off, at least through the night. And what is DKB?

lily, I sit in awe of your lawn mowage.

And about time to make my way over to Freddy’s for a double steakburger with cheese and (shoestring) fries. Back for the late-night final.

Ditto – it’s been sitting here for a few hours.

Sounds like she’d fit in fine with your cow-orkers.

I think of it as the A-Gang method. (A-Gang = A Div = Auxiliary machinery division, the people on a sub who own the hydraulic system, diesel, sanitary system, and atmosphere control equipment.)

Percussive maintenance.

Sounds quite reasonable to me!

I had good news at a doctor’s followup today. I have brought my blood sugar levels down to a satisfactory level after being way too high in April. I am now at a 6.4 A1c

New rule at CasaRoja: No glass (or otherwise breakable) on the top shelf of the fridge. The rice I cooked for lunch was put away in two small Pyrex storage bowls, but the only place I had room in the fridge was on the top shelf with the beverages. Mistake. I had taken one bowl out for supper and when I got in the fridge to pour myself some selzer, I knocked the other off onto the tile floor. Had to sweep up a mess before finishing fixing supper. Fortunately, no blood was spilled.

Howdy Y’all! As foretold, we had quality cee-mint time this mornin’ into early afternoon as it was quite pleasant out. Then we showered, achieved nappage and day drank. Lasagna etc. was et and we have leftover lasagna for tomorrow. It’s a good thing neither of us minds leftovers. All in all, a good RDOS day here in swampland.

Yanker yellow jackets and wasps are the aholes of the insect world. Death must come to them forthwith! I see now it was hornets. They are also amongst the aholes of the insect world and deserve death. You are wise to spend quality time with the remote.

Coppertone I remember Chef Boyardee (Boy Howdy! we called it) lasagna kit. Do they still make it? I remember especially the pizza kit. My sibs and I thought that was such a treat as kids. We got to make it when the ‘rents went out to eat. I bought one a couple of years ago. It was OK, but my tastes are definitely more sophisticated now. I remember around the age of sixteen makin’ one of the lasagna ones and feelin’ so suave cause I was makin’ such an exotic (well, for a small town Jawja boy in 1970) gourmet meal!

nuts sounds like a good explanation of the seasons to me. May your laundry be bird poop free.Conga rats on the 'mater. You get a :star:!

MOOOOOOM yeah, we have low to mid 90s temps this week. Still a little bit cooler than it has been. Appropriate/in apporpriate appendages crossed re the seizure meds. Sorry about the former neighbor. Hope daughter’s washer fix is not too bad.

Notty fortunately I very rarely have an icy sidewalk problem. If’n it happens, we stay inside until it melts which will usually be less than a day. I do have memories of the “February Freeze” in Athens, Jawja, home of UGA. We could expect an ice storm sometime in February. The temps would rise above freezin’ durin’ the day and melt the ice. Temps would fall below freezin’ at night and refreeze all the melted ice. Fun times for three or four days.

Lucky the cornbread sounds yummy! I like spicy cornbread. Hummin’bird thunderdome is always fun to watch.

MetalMouse reckon there’s an app that can track your pee? If not, perhaps one could be developed. It will make billions! Also the idea of one amuses

Mollie IMO a Monthy Python reference is always appropriate. Every Sunday when the bell is rung to start the service all I can think of is “bring out your dead!” Just hope I never say it out loud.

Herald I read that as “73 Ferrets and 1000 predicted high.” For a couple of seconds I wandered what I missed on the weather forecast. :worried:

WetOne yeah, one of the things about bein’ a RDOS is we can just get all Scarlett O’Hara when we want. “After all, tomorrow is another day!”

BooFae glad y’all had a good time at the music festival. A ramble down back roads is such a nice thing sometimes. I’ve been known to do that for a bit just to get off the interstate for a little while.

red sorry you had such a bad night. Hope it all gets better soonest. Saltines and ginger ale will definitely be your friends.

Cookie glad the herb dryin’ was successful.

doggio I am well aware of the seasons of the Southern USA.
Welcome To The South

Lily I could not imagine turnin’ on any kind of heat yet! Rose of Sharon is a bee-yoo-ti-ful flower!

52 look at you doin’ all those chores You get a :star:!

shoe my terlet cleaner is some kind of blue stuff. I once had some white stuff that turned lavender when sprayed in the terlet. The blue stuff cleans better, however.

BrightTree boxed lasagna is Stouffer’s frozen lasagna. Someone made a joke about the frozen lasagna bein’ a boxed lasagna and I’ve called it that ever since. I can make a good lasagna, but so does Stouffer’s, so that’s what I do now.

CupCakes HUZZAH on the good news from the doc!

Swampy
No, cant find Boyaredee lasagna. I have seen the pizza one though.

Twas a rainy day here, which meant for a big crowd at the museum. Filthy little kids have made it so’s I need to change the water in all of our water features tomorrow. If’n I don’t have to do that I can open in 45 minutes, If I gotta change water it takes double. This job would be so much easier if we didn’t have patrons.

I have a request of my fellow Mumpers. It’s Spoons birthday and he’s spoken of wishing a fuss could be made of his birthday even if he is a big kid now.

So, Mumpers, please have at it making a fuss over him on his birthday.

Heck, if she can scrub a fryer clean with that, ah, energy { hands over clean apron }

I was told there would be no math.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SPOOOOOOOOOONNNNNS!

Bappy Hirthday
SPOON
Anyone get that?

My tomatoes have never been as interesting as that! I think we’ve gotten almost all the tomatoes out of our plants this year as we will. The plants are looking like they are done for the year.

Or it can bounce off during the spin cycle and the cap will break so you are cleaning up an entire bottle of detergent from the floor and under the appliances. Been there, didn’t like the t-shirt at all.

I used to be involved in a rescue group and being the youngest and healthiest, I was the one who moved the puppies from carriers to pens and back. I was constantly getting peed on. I had one pair of shoes I called my “pee shoes” that were only worn to adoptions. I didn’t even drive in them, I’d change shoes in the parking lot.

One day I was walking to my car after adoptions and a rather handsome young man with a wonderful black tux Great Dane was walking into the store past me. I looked at the dog and said something like Hi Handsome and the leash holder understood that I was a dog friend and brought the big guy over for a pet.

Dog got head pets and ear rubs and then started sniffing me. Danes are BIG dogs so he was muzzle bumping me from my face to my feet and then he found my shoes. He was in LOVE. He kept sniffing and wouldn’t back up when leash holder tugged the leash and said it was time to go. Dog didn’t move. Leash holder looked surprised and embarrassed and dog laid on the ground and wrapped his front feet around my legs to hold me still. When the owner persisted, dog put one of my feet in his mouth.

We had quite the standoff in the parking lot. Dog wanted my shoes, I was willing to give dog my shoes but the owner didn’t want to encourage his big boy to mug other people for their stinky shoes and ended up on the hot concrete wrastling his dog into letting my feet go.

I threw the shoes out when I got home and started buying new puppy shoes every year. Just to be safe.

Oh gosh, I haven’t been in the pit for ages, but I do have a few words about the current state of health insurance.

That must’ve been one clean shirt.

Well… Last day with the old core system. :grimacing: Management are irking mañana, and the rest of us have a paid day off. Wednesday morning, we’ll be using the new core system… which we haven’t been able to fully experiment with.

Happy birthday spoons! :birthday_cake:

This is this evening’s card.

@Aspenglow asked how I was and my reply attempt got mangled by discourse who refused to post it because “you used the same letters over and over again”, then it froze. How do you write words without using the same letters over and over again? Wrassled with it for a bit then just said “YKWIt!” and discarded. It.

I’ll try again:

almost hate to say. Sadism, marketed as physical therapy continues 3 times a week, except this week it’s only twice because my PT buddy is going out of town for Labor Day. My hip and knee isn’t worst at least. The doc today said to give it another two weeks and if not pretty much better he’s sending
me to an orthopod for steroid injections.

Driving 8 hours to Denver Friday should fun. Picking up a swivel cushion for the drivers seat tomorrow.
