Family Guy 01/08/06

Good Funny episode. What happened they actually followed two story lines pretty well tonight. More sitcom that just one liners.

I really enjoyed it.

First show since ‘Peter mastered the piano but only when drunk’ that I enjoyed as a complete story. I hope this is the direction they are moving into.

Jim

It’s official: The best “Family Guy” cameo ever is Mark Borchardt and Mike Schank from American Movie stepping out of the closet with Quagmire as they all try to film Meg’s lesbian encounter.

I missed this because those bastards still haven’t canned The War At Home, so I changed the channel, and forgot to change it back.

I always enjoy whenever there’s a musical espisode of FG (or the Simpsons or even American Dad).

This was a pretty hard hitting ep. I’m surprised they got Frank Jr to be on the show. Didja notice when he sang the theme song during the credits, he paused slightly before he said “laugh and cry”?

Thanks for confirming the reference. That’s what I thought it was, but I wasn’t sure.

Chris’s hair and hat being lowered onto his head like Vader’s helmet while the Imperial March played was an amusing throwaway gag as well…

Of course, this is a paraphrase, but I cracked up during one of the musical numbers when the lyrics Stewie sang was something along the lines of…

…like Allan Funt
…shave her … leg.

It’s one of those jokes that is hidden and takes a second to get, if you’re paying attention. I was lauging for an hour.

I was actually expecting a bleep-out.

I think you’re the only one.

Of course, I also enjoy stand-up comedians who use music in their act (like Stephen Lynch).

no, he’s not. I love musical episodes, too, as long as they retain character intergity.

I’ve clearly found my arch-nemesis.

Oh, c’mon. Why the hate?

Sunshine Bear!!!

And Peter in his attempt to pass himself as a Jew saying “Hello my fellow Hebrews and Shebrews” being followed by a well deserved kick in his nuts that made my day.

Frank Jr. is more talented that I’d thought.

Heh heh. “See you next Tuesday.”

Frank Jr’s problem is that he’s Frank Jr. When your dad is Frank Sinatra, you’ve got some pretty big shoes to fill, and I doubt that anyone will ever be able to fill the Chairman’s shoes. Had Frank been somebody else’s kid, he’d never have to suffer the comparisons to Frank Sr. Jr. also is more skilled than his father was. On Frank Sr.'s last tours, it was Frank Jr. who conducted the orchestras that performed with Frank.

Bye Lois. And remember, if I come home in the middle of the afternoon and you’re having sex with someone I’m killing you both.

The John Goodman scene was great. He seems like a nice guy in real life so I felt guilty for laughing, but I couldn’t help it.
