“Here at the New Yorker, nobody has an anus.”
Nice ending to the “novel you’re working on” gag they used (and overused) in a previous episode. I liked the way this one went, in contrast.

It wasn’t quite as good as last week’s episode, but still pretty damn funny. I liked the “Brown vs. The Board of Education” college football game.
The spoof of the A-Team opening was great, especially when Peter fell out of his Jeep and you thought they were going to do another long drawn out bit with Peter going, “Ahhhh” instead, you get a couple of seconds of it and then they cut to something else.
yep, as well as the exchange with the construction crew, recalling the way that nobody ever died on “The A-Team”, despite the constant gunfire, explosions, and car crashes.
Two scenes that were unmercifully long in past episodes were resurrected and cut short. Stewie asking Brian about the novel hmm…the novel you’re (gets smack in the head). The Willy Wonka spoof where Peter falls and goes ow…oww ad nauseum was brought back with one ow. Cool self referential gags.
Not as great as last week, but still solid. The sight of the Wheelchair Guy and his wife “having sex” was … well, I still can’t quite put my mind around it.
“You like that don’t you?”
“Oh. Oh.”
You know, I once dated a chick who talked like that in bed. Very disturbing, trying to “get busy” and having this monotone voice saying things like that.
Loved the Ashlee Simpson scene.
Yeah, and I figured the “hoe-down” bit just had to follow, but it wasn’t coming right away. I just sat there thinking “wait for it… wait for it!”
And it paid off. I couldn’t help but laugh.
I can’t wait 'til next week when they play the Plessy/Ferguson winner for the title.
Mr. Hoover
That was great.
Other nice bits…
Chris falling through the ceiling and doing it again.
Mr. Hoover vs. Brian.
The Peanuts “No dogs allowed” joke.
Yeah, they actually set up a joke like 5 episodes in advance. Very funny.
They’ve done really long set ups for jokes before. I think it’s a second season episode, I wish I could remember which one, where Brian and Peter are talking at the bar and out of nowhere Peter exclaims “Holy crap, a talking dog!”
Decent episode. I like it when they remind us that snooty, pretentious Brian is still really just a dog.
The vacuum gag had me rolling. It was kind of in line with the tennis ball gag.
i laughed out loud at that bit
good episode overall - and I think I can now honestly say I like **Family Guy ** much better than The Simpsons
What I don’t get is why Brian was taking Advanced Physics. What degree was he after?
And why is it so common place for movies, cartoons and TV sitcoms to portray the average college student taking some advanced physics as part of what appears to be a normal Liberal Arts degree.
(Another one that I can remember off the top of my head was in Little Man Tate, his first semester of college and he is in Physics 101 (or 1000, cant remember, but it was a freshman numbered course), and the physics teacher announced that the class was Quantum physics- WHAT?! As a 101 class? WTH, that is Grad level work at my school)
any cartoon that features Stephen Hawking is automatically a great episode, and the added inside joke for us Mac fanatics is they used the MacinTalk voices for Stephen (the Fred voice) and his wife (either Agnes or Kathy, i’d have to listen a second time)
What I found more impressive was that Stewie aced that test for Brian…
Hilarious stuff!
