Family Guy - 5/8/05

Loved the Donny and Marie joke.

the “Peter clobbering the other guy with stuff” went on a bit long, and was predictable, still funny

“2 D’s and an F”

“Oh my god there’s a BEAR in my oatmeal!!”

Shape of Jayna’s Tampon!

“Whatever helps you sleep at night, bitch.”

The tampon and Oz jokes were hilarious. Overall a mediocre episode as far as FG is concerned, but still better than 95% of other stuff on TV.

Best. Episode. Evar! The dental floss bit was hysterical.

Eh. I liked last week’s when I saw it, actually just last night… this one had some good jokes, but a lot of them fall flat. I kind of started looking at the clock halfway through.

Overall a mediocre episode, had it’s good points, but overall, not up to the standards set by the original seasons

on a scale of 1-10, i’d say…6

Was the ending of the episode the bear on the bed or did I miss something?

“My son… wants to… plow you.”

Yes. It did seem like there should have been another scene.

Hrm that is a weird way to end an episode.

After Brian did his ghetto Romeo and Juliet thing:

Man thats racist

Yeah thats just ignarant.

Cracked me up

You better get the money in advance.

Yes, this ep was a bit disappointing. For one thing, I just don’t find fart jokes to be funny. They can do better than that. Hopefully this is just a temporary lapse.
On the other hand, while it’s certainly nothing compared to Family Guy at its best, I think American Dad has improved. I hated their pilot ep after the Super Bowl, but I thought tonight’s episode had some funny moments. It has some potential.

I wonder if our expectations for FG are being skewed by the original eps of FG, sorta’ throwing the “grading curve” off

still, i did enjoy the “Law and Order” opening credits parody

I agree with **BabaBooey ** , the episode was mediocre overall but it did have some funny moments. I enjoyed the Law & Order intro and the stairs behind the teacher’s desk.

I will never look at dental floss the same again.

Eh… re-viewings have convinced me that the original series had gotten stale by the time it was cancelled, so if anything the 5/1 episode was a step up to me.

I loved the surrealistic moments.

I see what your saying but I am serious worried here. They are going down the same road that the Simpsons. They don’t have one driving plot per episode anymore now they are combining two into one show. Thats a sign to me that they are running out of ideas or are simply not putting the time into developing them. I wonder how much American Dad is hurting Family Guy.

It’s almost totally different “theys.” And it’s been a long time since they paid much attention to things like plot.
