Peter and The Chicken are at it again.
Notable only for the insanity of how long their fight went on. I never knew Quahog had a subway.
But, the really notable thing? As they’re duking it out in the airplane, what’s that? Yes! A Wilhelm scream!

I HATE the chicken. I HATED it the first time, and I STILL hate it. It takes away 4 minutes of actual humor.
Joe
I could not agree more.
The only part of the chicken scene that was funny was the Wilhelm scream. The rest just seemed like filler for an episode that ran short.
It’s Family Guy. Every gag that lasts longer than about 20 seconds takes away however much longer than 20 seconds it goes on of actual humor.
I thought the whole interlude in the middle of the fight, where Peter and the Chicken realize that they have no idea what the hell they’re fighting over anymore, then decide to go out to dinner, only to start fighting again over who pays was a pretty clever twist.
Stewie with a tuba mickey-mousing fat people’s footsteps was hilarious- especially the callback at the end with Chris.
The chicken fight was simply wonderful, and I’m looking forward to installment #4.
Yes, I’m sure it’ll offer as much innovation and originality over this latest episode as the episode offered over #2 and #1 and not just be another fucking goddamn stupid fistfight that goes on and on and on and on and on and brings the episode to a screeching halt.
I think the Peter vs The Chicken is one of the greatest action sequences of any kind on any show ever, and also very, very funny. Its sequel, not so much. I haven’t seen the new one yet, but the idea of another permutation makes me a bit queasy. I still love the show, but the way they’re milking those old gags is getting tiresome.
I saw the Chicken, and thought So, no ideas at all this week, huh? That’s a Bummer.
No one thought the Snakes on a Plane reference was funny?
I also thought the bit in the sewer with the alligator was good, though I too am getting tired of the chicken.
Snakes on a Plane? I thought it was an Indiana Jones reference!
I’m happy that I get to be the first to mention how awesome the King Stewie of the Land of Make-Believe cutaway was.
“What kind of a king builds his castle next to the train tracks?”
I thought the chicken fight was teriffic, totally unexpected when Peter is in the middle of a conversation with Lois. All over an expired coupon many episodes ago.
So is the chicken really a giant chicken? I thought it was a guy in a costume, but his wife seems to be a full-time giant chicken too.
I also expected a shot of the devastated city after the fight.
No, no, no. The *How I Met Your Mother * gag was the best. The best, I tells ya!
Suit Up!
IIRC, the original chicken fight started when Peter was talking to a guy in chicken suit, and it made him flashback to his fight with the chicken, who is an actual chicken.
I thought the slave joke and the fake orphan adoption were hilarious.
Yep looks like it’s a real giant chicken: http://youtube.com/watch?v=qhOCp-dPsjA
The first fight was shown after a guy obviously in a chicken suit offered Peter a coupon, which Peter refused saying “Look pal, I don’t take coupons from giant chickens, not after last time.” Then Peter flashes back to a clerk telling him his coupon has expired. He becomes enraged and attacks the (apparently real) giant chicken standing outside that gave him the coupon.
I was surprised to see Neil Patrick Harris’s name in the closing credits. Now there’s a man who’s comfortable with his sexuality.
Actually, my wife and I just about died with that one. The brief-but-not-subtle humor on this show is the best.
