Loved the “Temple of Doom” chase scene Tuckerfan Stewie told Peter to protect his heart. Michael Eisner was chanting “Khalifa” which was the diety the evil child slaver worshiped in IJ, ToD. The evil child slaver would reach into his victims’ chests and pull out their still beating hearts to offer up to his goddess
also LOOOOOOOVED the “Somewhere That’s Green” scene - LSoH is one of my all time favorite musicals also - I can sing every part of every song (I’m a broadway geek)
I am slightly ashamed to say that my friends and I were around 20 at the time Little Shop came out and we saw it about 6 times. Most of the time drunk and laughing our asses off every time. I still love the movie and the music.
Yeah, I got that. The part I missed is when they look down and see Eisner being ripped apart by alligators, then Stewie asks if the think’s Eisner’s dead. Peter says something about Eisner getting a deal like someone had someplace.
He would have liked to think of himself as such, but Megatron never trusted him, and always trusted Soundwave. The chain of command was never clearly stated, except that Soundwave was loyal and Starscream would have happily killed them all.
oh man, Family Guy does LSOH, which was my favorite movie when I was 10 years old. And this is what, the 7th Indiana Jones joke so far this season (the Family Guy movie had TWO of them!)
The entire LSoH song really turned the episode around for me. Before then, it was very mediocre, and after, it was gold. Even if it was straight from one direct movie lift to another with the Indy line, they were two GOOD movie lifts. Then the Jeb Bush line was just classic.
Me too. I get the Little Shop of Horrors reference, it’s just that that old guy, and in particular his voice, are like as unto nails on a chalkboard to me.
I REALLY really want a ring tone of Brian doing “peanut butter jelly”.
And I’m the type of person who only does the “ring ring” tone on my phone. I’d break the trend for that. One of the rare Laugh out loud moments I’ve had all week.
Hmm… really? I recognized that the song was from LSOH, but I thought that they changed a few words around to make it fit slightly better. Then again, maybe I was thinking of the song from the stage show, not the Rick Moranis movie.

About the only thing I noticed changed was a superficial “The kids watch Howdy-Doody, 'cause Father he Knows Best.” to “The kids watch Howdy-Doody, 'cause Chris Griffin he Knows Best.” Otherwise, I believe it was verbatim.
Not only was it word for word (with the exception of the Chris Griffin line), it was a frame for frame copy of that scene in the movie! Now that song is stuck in my head, and I don’t mind one little bit! I just wish our copy wasn’t loaned out to a friend right now!
I thought they were easing up on the creepiness of the old guy a bit, making him more lonely than pervy (gotta love the old dog!) - but then he turned on the tv and Bingo! Pervorama!
The fall from the cliff and the ripped apart by alligators were also shots from Temple of Doom.
My faves were the silent Quagmire, and the assaults on Lois.
Both, laughing out loud. I could have seen that quagmire bit go on for a minute. Even if FG episodes aren’t always funny end to end, I just gotta watch because I never know when I’ll miss the next gag that floors me. Just this season, the Gepetto bit, the ipecac bit, and a lot of last night’s episode have been classic.
I usually get all of the jokes, but I was stumped by the Peanut Butter Jelly Banana one. I knew it had to be from somewhere, but had no idea. It was still hilarious.
And my husband usually has to tell me the “guy” references, like G.I. Joe, but I had a feeling that robot thingy was a transformer of some sort.
I’m just glad they throw me a few Facts of Life, Small Wonder, and Cosmic Cow references, like last week.
The best part of that scene was when he had his arm straight out and made a fist. And I loved that Stewie understood what was going on, despite not hearing the description.
Wasn’t there a ‘far from Skid row’ near the end of the original? I remember listening for that, and it seemed like they rearranged the lines at the very end to get rid of it. (Probably because it would’ve made no sense.)
