Favorite Family Guy throwaway gags.

What’s your favorite Family Guy throwaway gag - you know those random, little asides and jokes that really have nothing to do with the plot or anything else happening on the show.

I love the bits about the Cookie Monster being in rehab and freebasing cookie dough:

Also there’s a bit in the first episode where Peter is in court for welfare fraud and out of nowhere the Kool-Aid Man just jumps through the wall, and then when everyone looks at him weird, he just quietly tiptoes back outside. Cracks me up every time:

I’d also say the bit where Peter fights the giant chicken, but that goes on way too long to qualify as a true throwaway gag.

I LOVE the chicken fights.

Peter: <watching Stewie dispute something with Lois> “That’s right Stewie, fight the machine!”

Stewie: <glares>* “How did you know about the machine?!”*

I liked the one where Peter was Jewish ("Hey there, Hebrews and Shebrews!)

I like the one where Peter says, “Oh man, this is even worse than that time when…”

“So I ussed 'em down…”

“So there…workin’ on on your novel huh? A little story where some friends become enemies, enemies become friends, obstacles overcome and everyones richer for the experience…”

When Peter is in the attic with Ann Frank & family, and starts eating potato chips slowly but noisily as the Nazis are searching the house.

Oh, no clip? I thought we had a clip there.

Diamonds.

I came in here to say “diamonds. She’ll pretty much have to”.

Thanks for the link, tdn.

Evil Monkey. And anything with Brian and Stewie singing. Bag of Weed especially

Peter: “Yeah, right. That’s what they said about Benjamin Disraeli.”

Cut to Disraeli looking at the screen, stating “You don’t even know who I am!”

WTF? That is the show. It’s nothing but “random, little asides and jokes”.

Not all of them. The October 10th episode had a fairly standard sitcom storyline (someone is caught cheating, hides it, mate finds out, they break up, they make up at the end.)

…and that time I snuck into Wimbledon…

Pretty much anytime one of the family members bashes Meg. Always good for a chuckle.

Not a running gag, per se, but this had me rolling:

Priest: “You may now kiss the bride.”

Peter: “KISS her? I’m going to DESTROY her!”

LOVE this one. This is a great example of what Family Guy used to be, and why we used to love it.

Brian: Is that a chicken back there?

Store Clerk: Oh this? Yeah…yeah it is

Brain: Does is squeak?

(squeaks)

Brain: I would like to purchase that, and then run home and show it to Lois.

Peter goes hunting with Dick Cheney.

That’s even more imaginative than the people who invented singing
