Family Guy spinoff in the works

I loathe Quagmire. The only thing I would find funny involving him would be to see him die in an episode. He needs the Maude Flanders treatment.

I’m not quite that far in agreement, but I do think that both FG and AD have an ugly, misogynistic streak running through them. I also find Peter’s abuse of Meg to be so unfunny that when an episode includes it, it destroys my enjoyment enough that I generally turn off the show.

Much of the humor is at the expense of someone or something. When the show resurfaced on Cartoon Network, I found it to be a delightful gem that had been overlooked in its original run. But it became tiresome when the cruelty and mockery of various selected groups became repetitious. The “Holy Crap, They Went There” factor loses its allure before too long with shows like that, and then the writing seems really transparent from then on.

Seth Macfarlane’s career demise will be at the hands of his own arrogance. At least I hope so.

Cleveland Brown has a show in the works.

When I first heard this mentioned, I thought Seth McFarlane was just screwing with people, but it’s mentioned seriously in a few places.

I have to wonder what they can do with it. If Cleveland still interacts with his usual friends, does it simply become Family Guy 2? Or do they throw him into a totally new situation?

This seriously sounds like an elaborate April Fool’s prank. The entire point of Cleveland’s character is not he is the bland best friend who hardly ever speaks or goes outside his calming comfort zone.

How can they build an entire show around him? It’s absurd to even think about it.

And American Dad has really been bringing the funny lately, it’s come a long way from the lame first season.
