This has been bugging me–can we retitle this thread to the correct name for the app–“Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff”?
I know that, but I couldn’t figure out how to turn it off of wifi without leaving the game. I tried the direction of swiping up, but my iPad did nothing. I didn’t receive a menu with an option for airplane mode (or any menu, actually), so I really don’t know how to proceed. I will try it though, if someone can explain it in a way that I can follow it.
It seems like it will be worth it, since i am in single digits for those damn giraffes, and they are coming SLOWLY.
I asked the mods to do this when I found out the name of the game was TQFS. I believe I sent a note through the “report this post” button, but never received a reply. I think I may have also sent a PM to one of the mods to “the game room” directly, but I could be wrong about that.
Feel free to try again, because I agree it is annoying.
Maybe if a few of us request the title change, they will do it. I am going to try to “Report this post” on your suggestion post, and see if we can get this done.
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
Yeah, swipe up from the very bottom of the screen and a little arrow will appear. Swipe that arrow up as well and a small menu will come up. Click on the airplane icon to turn on airplane mode. It takes a few tries (at least for me) to get the menu to come up.
I can’t turn off my wifi from my ipod with the swipe thing. So I’m screwed when I don’t get good drops. Does anyone know how long we have to get Cleveland? The whole event?
I’m really unhappy with the quality this week. I haven’t been able to visit ollie all week and it crashes at other times too.
Also, the pyramid countdown ends at noonish EDT (maybe 11, maybe 1… I forget) Saturday. Don’t know what happens then, but keep an eye out if you can get in.

Ok, found the menu. What do you mean when you say “If you don’t get the rare item, close the app and do a hard close.” What is “a hard close”?

I think it means to make sure you close the app completely, not just minimize it to the app “tray”.

I have to say, the fact the opening of the pyramid…
(spoiler alert? Is it open for everyone?)
…is just another version of “a bunch of XXXs are overrunning your town” is a bit of a letdown.
Sorry - on the iPad you can 4-finger push-up from the bottom of the screen, or double-tap the Home (round) button. That will show you all the open apps. Swipe up on the app you want to close and it will disappear.
I’m now getting butts like crazy, plus i’m only two giraffe floaties and one bubble bath short of Cleveland being unlocked. I’ve got his unlock price down to 80 clams, so worst case scenario is that I buy him. I’m not sure if I’m going to get everything else unlocked given their crazy high number of butts prices, but we’ll see. I got sphinx stewie today and that was cool.
So, now I have Cleveland, but one of the primary pyramid quest lines can’t advance until he reaches level 5? And Cleveland starts out with only one unlocked action, which takes 10 minutes and which I have to keep repeating in order to get him to level 2? I think I speak for Cleveland himself when I say, “WHAT THE HELL?” 
Yeah, that sucks. Fortunately, he levels up to 2 fairly quickly which unlocks the 4 hour task. I’ve had him for a day or two and STILL haven’t got him up to level 5 to do the quest line task. It’s nasty.
I am still trying to get Cleveland… 2’giraffe float things and he is mine.
The female zombies only came out once so far, but they dumped a ton of butts on me.
I haven’t tried the cheat for getting the floaties, but if I don’t get him tomorrow, I am going to have to give the trick a try.
I am not thrilled about hearing the way Cleveland’s life starts, but at this point, I will just be happy to get him. I am so sick of the process of trying finish his reqs.
I don’t see why you won’t have forever to get Cleveland. I think Indy Peter would be tied in with the pyramid and it’s just a coincidnce that they dropped Cleveland at the same time.
As usual, they made the giraffes (and other things) harder to get as you get closer to getting them all. The first few were breeze, I’m at 13/25 and I’m getting about 2 a day now. I was using the trick before, but turning Airplane mode on and off that often was causing problems with my phone. It would think it was in AM when it wasn’t and vice versa. I can’t be 6 hours into my work day and find out my phone has been in airplane mode all day when the little airplane mode symbol wasn’t there. Only finding out because I can’t get on the internet (or go to play Family Guy and TSTO and can’t). Then when I turn it off I get a barrage of emails.
Now they want me to send Chris on a 20 hour quest. I still need him for giraffes. I’m considering doing it because, what the heck, that’s only 5 giraffes he’s not going to get so they not.
Adventure Peter’s quest lines require Cleveland’s participation.
It amuses me that when Cleveland has to “call things nasty,” he goes to Quagmire’s house.
All the moon-idol farming I’ve been lately has coincidentally left me with a mountain of in-game cash. I’m going to go look for some freemium stuff to pretty up my Quahog with.
I’m buying all the land with my sudden influx of cash. It seems my regular game progression has stalled. I don’t know what needs to happen to unlock the tv station, for example.
I need one stinking bath tub to unlock cleveland.
I finally got rid of the damned pirates, and then I opened the Civic Center. Now I have bulls running all over my Quahog. (Along with the mummies).
