Fantasy Football - Which TE to trade?

Jeremy Shockey - New York Giants

or

Daniel Graham - New England Patriots

I’m still suffering at WR position. Both of these TEs are high rank, top shelf. In the league I’m in, most of the guys would rather wait around for someone to go on waivers than actually trade. I’ll admit, I’ve been hording these two. But, I realy need more WR power. So, I want to offer a trade of one for a good WR. Which one should I keep?

I’m very strong at RB, DEF, K, and QB (yeah, even with McNair’s suckiness!), but byes and injuries are causing me some anxiety for the upcoming weeks. Poor me. ;j

I’d trade Shockey over Graham. They’re both QBs favorite end zone targets, but NE is probably going to score more points here on out.

McNair screwed me last week.

  1. That’s how I’ve been seeing in my crystal football thingy, too.

  2. Yeah, bummer for me as well. This week I have Carr (Hou) and Warner (NYG) to choose from. I’m going with Carr.

I’d probably keep Shockey.

I know the Pats have gone to Graham a lot thsi season, but I’m really expecting things to die down with him. They spread it around so much.

I was really dumb. I got Graham in our auction, and I dumped him before week 1. All signs pointed to the Pats using the rookie Watson as much as, if nto more than Graham, and we all know the pats use about 8 different receivers each game. I didn’t think Graham would catch 2 TDs all season.

I have Witten now. He was huge last weekend.

The plot thickens!
I really wish they weren’t so close in future possibilities.

One thing I might do is keep playing my squadren of second tier WRs with my star other positions and just hope (and research!) for good WR uses, all while keeping both star TEs so no one else has them. There seem to be maybe 5 high fant point producing TEs right now. In a league of 12 guys, if I have 2 of them, then that means 8 guys don’t have a point producing TE. What are the problems I’m overlooking with that scenario?

Well, do you guys play head-to-head or total points?

If you’re playing head-to-head, then if you can trade one of them to a guy you won’t play anymore (or a guy in the bottom of your division) then it should be win-win for both of you. If you’re playing total-points, trade him to a guy who is way out in front, or way in the back, not a guy who could bump you from the playoffs.

But, really, you’re in a good position: you’re losing very little TE wise (marginally, since they are so close) while you’re gaining quite aa bit WR-wise. Look for a guy who would be gaining a lot TE-wise and not losing much WR-wise (like he has 1 too many good WRs or something) and offer a trade.

The problem isn’t really which TE to get rid of. The more crucial factor is what WR you can pick up.

Do you have a WR/TE slot? If you’re having WR problems, why not put Shockey or Graham in the WR/TE slot?

Our league has a mandantory TE slot, a WR/RB slot, 2 WR, 2 RB, QB, DEF, K, 6 bench slots

I’d trade Shockey (to me!) if I were you, because the name alone might get you slightly more value, when in reality Graham is probably the better starter. The fact that both have already had their byes doesn’t help.

Coughlin can’t seem to grasp Shockey’s (or Strahan’s) potential, and it’s really starting to piss me off.
