Fartin' and burpin' in the MMP! Welcome to the Shortest Month in the MMP!

magic, are you in Davidson or Williamson County? You may have better luck in Williamson. At some point, we may need to have a Nashville Mumpfest with you, me and metal mouse. Welcome aboard!

nellie, your state are idiots if they think you’re expendable. You most definitely not to your family and the MMP.

flytrap, good to have you back. What kind of dog is your stepdaughter working agility with?

Moooooooom, have you considered trying felting with your wool yarn? My cousin’s daughter has been doing some felted sculptures of animals that are cute as can be. Check felting ideas out on Pinterest.

Irked, came home, suited Nelson up for his constitutional and et. After KP, I’ll be chilling in the studio.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

We’re in Williamson. We moved to Nolensville just before it got too expensive.

Good grief. I sat in line for twenty minutes before I could even order, and Popeye’s didn’t have either corn on the cob or cheesecake slices.

Got home with my thigh, beans’n’rice and some conciliatory mashed potatoes, and they hadn’t even given me a spork for my sides. And NO BISCUIT. It’s on my receipt and everything.

Insert many, many bad words here. purple is disappointed tonight.

I would have proposed Nancy, but I see there is a Mrs. Maus.

Getting a touch cranky with the surgery scheduling people. Got a doc saying what my belly needs, but a week later, no response from the people that actually know when said doc is able to do what I need. (Do any doctors actually know their own schedules?)

I’ve gone from Phase 3 (over 50) to Phase 2 (over 50 with a health issue) to Phase 1C (working in Financial IT regardless of age) for the vaccine, but the state is still trying to take its first bite out of 1A while it re-jiggers the priorities. Maybe I’ll get it next year?

Huh. So absurd slowness and being out of (or forgetting) things is not unique to the Popeyes near me.

My dental appointment went well. Everything looks good, and there was hardly any plaque to scrape off. I then walked to the grocery store before heading home. Total miles walked: 8.1. Hopefully I’ll sleep well tonight.

Red, I wish my governor saw things that way. I’m not the only person treated as expendable, and some of them are much more necessary to the wellbeing of others than I am.

shoe, that is frustrating. A woman wants her biscuit, dammit! Some fast food places seem to employ people who are pretty strung out. I once got about 8 items I didn’t order at a Taco Hell, and when I tried to point it out to the worker, he got so confused that I gave up.

Gotti, this is one of my pet peeves with medicine, and a very sore point because Someone Very Dear to Me might not have died if scheduling had happened in a timely manner. The answer to your question is, “No, they don’t. And neither does anyone else.” When I had cancer, I had to call the scheduler at each office to get anything set up, and THAT was hard: they’re often part-timers who only work when the Moon is in Scorpio and Tibet has been freed. And nobody else in the office could schedule anything. Being a polite, persistent PITA is the only way to get appointments, in my experience.

While I’ve never called myself Lil, honestly I’d prefer Nancy over Magic. Of course, the last person I know who had tried to choose his own nickname became Goober.

“Nancy”? “Lil”?

They’re referring to the Beatles’ Rocky Raccoon
Rocky Raccoon

magic, my late sweetie and I split our time between his home in south Nashville, just off Nolensville Road and mine in Lebanon. We used to go to Nolensville about once a month to Martin’s before they had satellite locations all over the place.

shoe, I saw on the news tonight that Popeye’s was going to discontinue several of their sides. I know that the last time I was there, green beans was off the menu. That eliminated the only green veggie not covered in mayo that they had.

I like this thread. Y’all are a good bunch of people.

Only my immediate family knows that I lost my job at the end of May 2020 that I’ve had since 1991. Stupid Covid. However, I do always try to focus on the positive. My house has never been cleaner. I fed my hubs and myself on $20.00 last week; it was plentiful, healthy, and delicious! We aren’t hurting for money; what I’m trying to do is make up for my lost income. It’s working!

Being sad and okay is a weird combination.

Re diets: Last time I tried dieting was about three years ago. Lost 42 pounds in 13 weeks, but it all crept back on. Lady SCAdian’s not working, and therefore being at home and cooking more, hasn’t helped.

Oh? Do tell. { props chin on hands }

Hell, if you’re up for it, fire up a separate thread so we can have a conversation that’s just about plentiful/healthy/delicious - and, apparently, cheap! - food. Cuz that’s a conversation I’m always willing to have.

First contestant in the “2021 MOTTO” international championship.

Matter of fact, that’d be a fun thread, too.

I had a weird simultaneous reaction:

1a.) Tsk. What passes for “news” these days. { sadly shaking head }

2b.) WHAT?!? Which sides? This is earth-shattering information.

Those of you who eagerly await updates on my ratties’ dinners will be delighted to know they got a mix of:

  • shredded wheat cereal squares
  • flax seeds
  • brown rice
  • sunflower kernels

One room over, mere inches from my head, there’s a lot of very happy rodents tonight.

I’m all for letting Maus be nancy if that is what they would prefer.

It’s distinctive and I, for one, am less likely to get confused.

I love my nickname, so kindly bestowed on me here. Gives me a nice warm feeling every time I see it. Someday, when I have the keyboarding energy, I’ll have to divulge the whole mundane pointless backstory to BBBoo.

I’d certainly be interested too. One culinary challenge I have is a husband who was a picky eater even before becoming diabetic. Also, I expect his appetite to pick up substantially once he’s back to construction work (pretty much any time now, depending on availability of an assignment).

Was very upset at end of irk day. Caller had tantrum about prior agent screwup, decided he MUST speak ONLY with a supervisor. I happen to sit at the far end of the call floor from sup desks. The one printer shared by manglement is near-ish my desk. My direct sup is off earlier than the other two, since she is the first in in the morning, and has mentioned recently that she’s not supposed to stay late (apparently, the penny-mashers I work for dislike paying OT at sup wages). My direct sup was within a few minutes of her clockout time AND at the printer. Most seasoned sup was busy helping someone else, evidently, since he was not answering his phone. Newest sup REFUSES to take the damn escalation! She tries to insist that I have to talk to my own direct sup for this (see prior about scheduling problems with this). Grandboss apparently got involved, and newest sup DID take the damn call (and was cordial to me about it). UGH!

I think enough of us are animal lovers in here that happy ratties please us.

It sure is pleasant for me. Which reminds me, isn’t it about time for shoe to post a picture or two of her favorite ratties and maybe a nest of da bebes.

Nettie, some people know how to take the lead, and others…don’t. Hang in there.

Jungian_Camisole1, welcome and feel free to stay awhile (think I’m at about 4 years now and I’m still fairly new). As for your MMP name, I haven’t a clue what to do with Jungian Camisole, but I’ll think of something…tomorrow.

Nancy/Magic, I’m agreeable to the change, even if it confuses folks (I believe you are a male person). What does everyone else think?

nellie, glad dentist went well.

red, may take awhile yet, but I’m game to drive up that way for a meet sometime.

gotti, hope the scheduing SNAFU gets sorted out.

Talked a bit with my brother and disturbingly, he doesn’t seem interested in getting the COVID vaccine…says there hasn’t been enough testing and/or it’s not effective enough. He’s wrong but he’s a very stubborn individual whom I am stopped trying to persuade or argue with. And he’s a PhD in Chemistry, to boot–I would think someone as versed in science as he would know better–but such is life.

Me, I’ll get the shot as soon as I can…which this being Ali-bama, is not happening soon.

And on that moderately gloomly note, I’ll be heading off to bed. All y’all take care.

Canes win! Canes win! Canes win!

{{{{hugs}}}}
But welcome! and fee free to stick around. We like new sacrificesmembers.

Y’all need Bojangles

The number one thing I miss about North Carolina. Bojangles on every corner.

I could murder a Bojangles ham biscuit about now.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.
