Favorite Chick Comic

Alright I know what most of you are thinking, “WHAT??FAVORITE, IS HE CRAZY???”

What I mean by “favorite” is which comic of good old demon-spewing Jack has offended you the most, insulted your intelligence the most, or has made you bust out laughing becuase of how ridiculous it is.

For me, it has to be “Dark Dungeons”
http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0046/0046_01.asp

The reason: When I was twelve, I was heavily into this satanic ritualistic roleplaying ( ). I had elves, wizards, and I was a “Dungeon Master” on occasion.
Anyway, a hypocritical friend of mine, hypocritical because the guy was SUCH a sinner and felt the need to chastise me for MY sins, found out that I played this “game”.

Oh no…I was Satan himself. Gary Gaiax (sp?) had entrapped my soul and I was going straight to hell.

Well, being twelve, I didn’t know any better, so I got a little scared. I admit it, I may try to have the fasad of a manly man, but I was twelve, I had not yet become “all that is manly about men” yet-that would take a full four more years.

In any event I went asking everybody, most of whom not only though the idea of playing roleplaying games equating to satanic worship was complete non-sense, they also thought I was a dork for playing the games:eek: .

In any event, I grew up, realized my friend was severally demented-after all he also believed Chick’s lies about the evil dread cult of the Mason’s:eek: , whom he had never, ever met, but was very convinced that they slaughtered goats and masterbated with feces, you know typical devil worship stuff.

SO does anyone else have any stories involving Chick, and his “web of comical lies”?

It’s ‘Gygax’, FTR.

And you only player when you were twelve? I’m thirty-five and having people over tomorrow.

Am I just a geek or am I ‘old school’?

Actually, I should’ve said I started playing when I was twelve. I didn’t stop until I was 20ish, and that was because my group movied apart and I had no one to play with:( .

Naw, I wasn’t trying to infer that roleplayers were geeks, but when you are twelve, anything different is viewed as “dorky” by your peers…at least at my school.

FWIW-I think playing those roleplaying games sparked an interest in reading and created a good imagination in me.

I like the tract in the OP.

Intense occult training, bondage, and book burning!

My kind of party!

Yeah, “Dark Dungeons” is the best, by far.

I always found the one that tells the “truth” about Halloween to be curious - http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0011/0011_01.asp -

It buys into the urban legend that many kids are killed or mutilated on Halloween due to objects or poison placed in the candy. All they needed to do was go to http://www.snopes.com/horrors/poison/hallowee.htm which even quotes the Chick tract. You would think that would cast a shadow of doubt amongst Chick worshipers. Plus, that tract has two “Haw Haw’s” (well, Satan actually says a record “Haw Haw Haw”).

Then there’s Doom Town.

Something about his portrayal of Sodom’s homosexuals was very disturbing. It makes me wonder what goes through that mind of Chick’s. It has no “Haws”, but the line “My brothers, this isn’t right” said by Lot as the homosexuals tried to pull him from his house and, well, you know…that was classic Chick.

Yes, I am a closet Chick fan. I have a morbid curiosity about these tracts. Not only are the opinions bizarre, but so many of the “facts” can be easily disproven, and yet these things are distributed everywhere! Death Cookie indeed…

BTW - Why is this in The Pit?

I put this in the pit because I felt that it had the potential for lots of bad language and criticism.

Spells that work! Cool! I want to learn some.

Thanks, Jack Chick!

Yeah, Chick brings that out in people…point taken.

Hey, look–on the site it still says 2002. Haw Haw!

I agree with the masses in that This Was Your Life was a stunning debut. However, me, I like Big Daddy?. It’s nice to see that our chum keeps current with his anthropology…

…for 1926.

My favorite Chick Comic would be Margaret Cho, though I’m also very fond of Ellen Degeneres.

You can’t argue with Big Daddy orDark Dungeons, but I’ll always have a warm spot in my hellbound heart for That Crazy Guy! It’s been the bookmark in my Collected Works of Shakespeare ever since a loony campus preacher gave it to me as an undergrad around 1989.

Then again, considering it’s copyright 1992, maybe I got it in grad school.

[url=http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0034/0034_01.asp]Angels?[/ur] would have to be right up there.

Notice the manager’s name is Lew Siffer. Get it?

And how about the monologue about the “killer rock” conspiracy" (which includes Elvis and the Beatles) notice how he claims the whole conpiracy is controlled from his “…church in the throne of Rome.” Chick is literally asserting that the pope is responsible for Motley Crue.

I cannot believe that there are actually people who believe this fucking garbage.

Let me fix that link.

I know, it’s sad but true. What I can’t stand is someone making a claim, “such as D&D is satanic!”, and you ask “why do you say that?” and they hand you a tract.

I’m like “what the fuck! Do you honestly think there is a collection of wisdom here? It’s a fucking half-assed comic book! When I used to write my college papers, I didn’t reference the incredible fucking hulk when I talked about physical education!”

Grumble…Freak’n idiots.

I like Minty’s link. After the doctor tells the girl that Burt Reynolds gave her the AIDS virus, he says, “…you’re dying and there’s NO cure!” Yeah, this is how doctors really talk to patients who are HIV positive-- and wouldn’t it be unethical for a doctor to proseltyze a patent? Is that even legal?

Many of the ones already mentioned, but we can’t forget “Allah Has No Son” and that one comic with Ray (I think his name was Ray) the homosexual revender.

It’s so hard to choose a favorite. I usually go with the ones with the worst artwork but my current favorite is the Blaxploitation Soul Story. I can just see the movie version with Richard Roundtree and Pam Grier. Dig them crazy pimp threads on Leroy Brown. This is a Chick tract worthy of Quentin Tarantino.

“Are you religious?”
“No, I’m a Christian.”

Fucking poetry, man.
