I’m with Gaudere. I love a good margarita but can’t stand all those frozen fruity flavors. You just get way too much water when the ice melts.

I do have a good recipe for a plain old frozen margartia though.

24 oz. Cuervo Gold.
16 oz. Rose’s Lime Juice.
8 oz. Triple Sec.
2 oz. Sour Mix.
Squeeze in the juice of 4 fresh limes.
Shake well and throw the whole mess in a very cold freezer for at least 24 hours.

This lets the flavors mellow and mingle. If your freezer is cold enough you’ll get a nice slushy margarita without all that ice. And no blender required.

The bar where I worked once paid me a lot of money to develop that recipe; they just don’t know it.

You’re right about the rusty nail, too. I find it to be an excellent winter drink.

Would it help if I said I add a squeeze of lime?

Probably not, eh?

Piledrivers (related to screwdrivers)
[ul][li]2 parts orange juice[/li][li]1 part vodka[/li][li]1 part Malibu Rum (coconut flavored)[/li][/ul]

We always made a big punchbowl of this (hence, parts vs. oz). You can barely taste the alcohol, but if you have too much, you’ll get a hangover that feels like you’ve been on the business end of a piledriver.
