I like the MP-5 in Half-Life as well. It’s not as deadly with its primary attack as the shotgun, but the option to lob some grenades is what makes it great. To be fair, the shotgun is a very close second-favorite.
Goldeneye. My best gun was the grenade launcher. You put me in the temple with one of those and I was in heaven. If no grenade launchers I preferred the rpc-90. A serious cheater weapon it fired so fast that people with slow firing guns like the shotgun couldn’t even get a shot off.
Rainbow 6 3. Definetly the M16 for multiplayer death matches. Super accurate and packed enough punch for what we needed. For terrorist hunt I prefer the mp5. The gun can go full auto with no muzzle rise. Would be perfect but doesn’t pack enough punch for human vs. human.
Halo. The sniper rifle is the best. Picking people off in large levels is great.
CounterStrike. My favorite level is Miami so I just use the ak47 variant. I can’t remember to gun name, but thats what it’s supposed to represent.
Another vote for Blood. It’s one of my favourite games, especially thanks to the flare gun, hairspray and voodoo doll. The Life Leech was pretty fun too.
Blood 2 wasn’t as good a game, but the designers had something going with that Singularity Generator weapon
In Quake 2, I love the double barreled shotgun. You have to get close, but you can do around 90 damage per shot and it shoots a lot faster than the railgun.
The minigun’s nice, if you can find the ammo for it. Usually when you pick the gun up it has only enough for maybe 3 seconds of continuous fire, and it’s hard to get most of it to hit a target that’s constantly moving.
Oh, and in Goldeneye/Perfect Dark I’m quite lethal with the remote mines. I don’t stick them on walls and wait for someone to walk by, I throw them at the enemy and detonate them when the mine gets near the player.
PD’s grenades set to “proximity pinball” were rather fun, but you were just as likely to kill yourself instead of the enemy.
Ah, machine guns in Counterstrike. I love going into a game full of over-careful snipers and general cautious players that outclass me in terms of skill, but slowly working up the cash for a machine gun…
Then I fly through the chokepoint and mow 'em down!
The screams in chat are most amusing about how ‘cheap’ it is. It’s not cheap to camp with an awp, to them, but it’s cheap to pull the “Charge of the Light Brigade” number? On a really good day, I managed to get something like five people in a couple of seconds before I was shot and killed. Learned 'em not to stand so close together waiting for easy kills to come through!
