Favorite glasses - a beverage-ish MMP

I’m feeling semi-blurfful. More of a bleargh maybe.
It is indeed warm and incredibly windy out, just like in Merrylande. Too bad I have to stay in and study and I can’t open up the house because the storm window are still on and the screens are in the basement.
Lunch is 6-hour old coffee and left-over kielbasa and rice. One of these days I’ll find a happy medium in kielbasa. This one has a great flavor and inside texture but the skin is way too tough. The other stuff has perfect skin but has slightly bland flavor. Methinks what I need is an authentic Polish market but I’m not aware of one near me. I think there’s one in Worcester though. Hmm.

Welp, tomorrow is the midterm and after that I am on vacation. Only 27 more hours before I can stop stressing.

I probably say this every month, but I love my work for feeding us.

This month’s meal: hanger steak, steamed broccoli, mashed yams (which I hadn’t tried before. They’re… okay), whole wheat rolls (yum!), salad, and brownies and cookies. Yum yum yum. I often get seconds, which is not a common occurrence for me (of course, my seconds are usually just a couple more bites, but I don’t eat much anyway).

I kind of need to stop looking on craigslist at stuff that I can’t use. No, I can’t buy that gorgeous pink 1950s sink. Or the pink corner tub. sigh I want my mid-century modern dream home!

Silver, you’re being a table? Do I want to know?

They need people to have the jello served on. There’ll be plastic wrap between me and the food.

Howdy Y’all! I survived the irk week. Rah! I actually feel a little better today and think that maybe this little trip down to Apalachicola might even help sinus wise bein’ on the bay and all. Two days ago I would’ve said I shouldn’t go but now, why not! Lookin’ forward to a couple days of piggin’ on seafood and sippin’ adult beverages whilst watchin’ shrimp and oyster boats out on the bay plus dolphins and manatees and such!

OYKW is swipin’ the General’s dindin cause we both have a hankerin’ for some.

Oops, missed the Happy Burfdying! Sorry about that, hope it didn’t ruin the day

I did actually manage to get out a bit today- read through the instructions I got from the hospital, and decided there was actually no reason I shouldn’t drive, seeing as I was told ‘2 weeks, so you’re not drugged, and it does hurt’- but I’m not drugged, and it doesn’t hurt, even when I tried doing a practice emergency stop, so I drove to the doctors- amazingly, the car had not been broken into, lost any mirrors, and started first go, after being left a street away for 5 weeks.

Annoyingly, I do have to keep my dressing dry for another week, and the doc didn’t have any more waterproof covers either, so either they sell them at the big pharmacy- I’ll go look tomorrow- or I’m really going to stink…

I actually made it to my pottery class tonight for the first time in 5 weeks; they’d pretty much given up on me. The teacher’s letting me come for a few of the daytime sessions to make up a few of the missed classes, or I’d only get half of what I paid for, which is nice. I did have a bit of… umm… fun… on the way down there though- was crossing the main road on a little green man, when the lights changed, and cars started driving towards me. At this point, I discovered that if I try and run, my right leg buckles underneath me. That was interesting to know, but it wasn’t the best place to find out. I didn’t quite fall over, luckily, but it was very close.

It’s not very springlike here today- in fact, it’s not been that sunny since my new sunlounger arrived, it was glorious for a few days before that. Still, 'tis only March, what do I expect?

It’s so nice to be able to drive again- though I did have to fight the temptation to go on a ludicrous mission. That is the problem with feeling fine at this point- I really want to do more than I really should, though I still got out of breath walking the few hundred meters to the pottery class.

Happy firday tomorrow all!

Running bambilance tonight. So far, had traffic accident with a whiplash, some kid that passed out because he hasn’t eaten for three days trying to make weight (:smack:), and a young woman that took a dose of colon prep but doesn’t understand why her guts are cramping.

The entertainment never ceases…

Home, am texting with my “just friend”:).

Nut, glad you’re feeling better.

ShinyCat, will you be wearing anything else beyond Saran Wrap?

Glad Mom is doing better, Sticky.

My thanks to everyone! Call it vibes or prayers or whatever you want, we have really felt it the past days. My brain isn’t working quite right – for example Auntieb isn’t at yahoo but hotmail. <snaps fingers> Missed by this much.

First day down, one to go and funeral Saturday. The love and support from our friends (and I mean you all too) have let us have a few moments and good laughs in all the pain. It took a little creativity but we actually got the cow quacking and duck mooing again and had them on the one table by the pictures and all. One friend who didn’t know the story bumped the duck and ------ wait a darn moment. That duck just mooed at me! Of course them she had to tough the cow and it quacked. And as she looked there all confused everyone else just had to laugh. Don’t want to know what the funeral director made of it all

Had a not-nice here and there and some behavior from one relative you wouldn’t believe if I typed it to you. May have to volunteer in a couple weeks to be thread-started just to tell it.

Oh yes we will.

So tell the truth, **BBBobbio **- you like bambilance duty for the entertainment value.

{{{kopek & Mrs k}}} That’s all…

Up and already functional. Besides throwing together a lunch for FCD, I’ve got the dishwasher going. The kitchen floor needs a good cleaning - where’s the floor-cleaning fairy when you need her lazy ass?? From the looks of weather radar, we’re almost done with the rain. No plans for the day yet.

Daughter will be stopping by tomorrow with her friend/classroom aide - a girl she went to middle school with, altho they weren’t buds back then. Her friend loves taking care of the classroom aquariums and she’s been wanting to see ours. **FCD **is even going to delay the water change till she gets here just so she can see how we do it. Do we know how to entertain guests or what???

I’m caffeinating, but I need to think about food. Maybe cereal, because it’s not complicated.

Happy Firday!!

That reminds me of the story Detailed AGM told about his grandmother’s funeral last year. He had a couple of redneck cousins that missed the viewing and were late to the service. When everyone was getting up to leave the church, Redneck Female Cousin piped up, “Can y’all open up her coffin again so we can see her one last time since we were late?”:smack: Detailed AGM said his family will be talking about that one for decades. His phone rang off the proverbial hook the next day with various family members calling to ask “Can you believe what she did?”

What’s your point?

Ruble, sorta kinda like the quacking cow. My mother was a big fan of naughty nursery rhymes, and her favorite was

*Mary Mary, quite contrary,
how does your garden grow?

With silver bells and cockle shells,
and one goddamned tulip.
*

When my sister and I ordered her headstone, we made sure there was a solitary tulip. People who were acquaintances think it’s a nice touch. Those who really knew her crack up every time they see it.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 57 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of <snerk> 69 <snerk> and rain. However, in Apalachicola Flahrdy the temp right now is 64 with a predicted high of 75 and sunshine. Since that’s where we’re headed in a little while that’s my real weather for the day. It’ll be lows in the 60s and highs in the low to mid 70s for the weekend. Nice sittin’ out on the deck and drinkin’ weather!

Plans are to leave out from da cave around nineish this mornin’. We’ll probably have N.O.L. in Tallahassee and should be in Apalachicola around twoish. From Tallahassee on it’s a two lane road which I intend to drive at a leisurely pace since I have been told I’m the designated driver. Fine by me. None of those maniacs accompanyin’ me can drive anyways. We’re takin’ JDD’s SUV since it can hold three people in the back seat all comfy like.

Ruble we will await on pins and needles the tale. People can behave in really weird some people can behave at funerals and wakes. Glad to know the missus and you are copin’. You’re all in my thoughts and prayers.

Spaz just  I take it this is the cousin who’s invite to family reunions gets ummm… “lost” in the mail.

I need me some more caffiene and should consider some brekkie and then purtify for travelin’ to the wilds of Apalachicola.

I have decided to unplug for the weekend so I’ll holler at y’all Sunday sometime.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, off to irk. It’s raining.

Uverse guy just left. Wish he installed out system in the first place as he’s been installing and troubleshooting networks and phone systems for 15 years. He looked at how the stuff was set up and asked if a guy named “L” did it. Turns out that L has only been with Uverse for three months and his assistant had been at it for less than a week. :dubious:

That explains a lot…

Fortunately, today’s tech has experienced every problem that we’ve been having on his own system at home and has swapped out two boxes and the wireless access point. We’ve crossed every possible crossable thing that it will work now.

The Paint Every Wall project is going along nicely here.

Good morning.

My cold has come down full force just in time for the weekend and my son’s homecoming for spring break. I’m doping up on cold drugs, but they’re not really helping all that much.

Hope you’re having fun on your little get away**, Swampy.**

It was absolutely gorgeous here yesterday, but unfortunately I was at work. Now that the weekend is here, the rain is moving back in. It would have been nice to have the sunshine stay at least a day or two more. Mr. Taters got home from work early yesterday and since it was so nice, he opened the doors and windows to let some fresh air in. By the time I got home, he had everything closed again, but still I’m glad he aired the house out.

I’ll spend today tidying, plus I need to run to the grocery store so I have some of my son’s favorite food on hand. I need to buy cereal, his favorite Campbell’s Chunky soup, whole milk and fruit, lots of fruit.

Neither hubby nor I drink milk, although I usually have a quart of skim on hand for cooking and oatmeal.

Well, I should finish loading the dishwasher and run it.

You figured it out!

((kopek & all))

Every Friday I say I’m going to go get my hair cut, and then I go home, have lunch, and fall asleep until dinner. Well, I’m saying it again and we’ll see what happens.

Other than the party tonight, the weekend will be pretty blah. There’s a couple of garage sales I’m going to try to hit tomorrow morning. One of them is supposed to have a ton of antique dealers getting rid of old stock. Oh, and I think I’ll try to make the sushi rice I was going to make last weekend before I started feeling crappy. I have ingredients for different vegetarian rolls and inari.

I wonder if I can finish a half an afghan in a weekend? Since I’m going to Mom’s on Tuesday (I think) I’d like to take the one I’m working on along with all the others I’ve done. I suppose I could wait till Weds to be sure. Decisions, decisions…

Back to knitting and Netflix.

Having network troubles here. Frontier is sending me a new router. Hopefully that will fix it.

Sorry for your loss Kopek. She sounds like a wonderful woman.

Happy belated BoFae Day!!!

ShineyCat, pics, or it didn’t happen.

Hope the eyeball comes out alright Tarra. That didn’t sound right. :dubious:

Hazelnut, be careful out there.

Rosie’s sig to anyone I missed.

Time for coffee.
