I seem to have Peanuts on the brain today.
At any rate, who’s your favorite Peanuts character? Mine is, and shall always be, Linus Van Pelt.

Snoopy, now and forever. I have a little Snoopy on my desk, a Snoopy t-shirt, and two stuffed Snoopy toys - one from when I was three (it’s 40 years old now), and one from my husband for this year’s Valentine’s Day.
Linus is cool, too, though. Such a weirdly sweet baboo.
Snoopy was my childhood hero and is my adult hero. And now that I’ve been acquainted with real-life beagles for twelve years, a lot of what Snoopy does is VERY spot-on…
And here I thought your favorite would be World War II, Cat Whisperer.
Learn something new every day, I do suppose.
Charlie Brown was always my favorite 'cause I was kind of the underdog, suffered from unrequired love(s) and wore the same zig-zag-striped shirt every day.
Peppermint Patty was my second favorite 'cause she was so unique and her own person.
Snoopy is my favorite!
My second choice would be Linus.
I’ll be the one vote for Schroeder, I’m sure. I was always partial to the musicians.
Ok, I’m curious, can you give some examples?
When I think of Snoopy, I think of hanging out with a yellow bird, sleeping on a doghouse, pretending that doghouse is a WWI biplane, Joe Cool hanging out at the student lounge, and doing his happy Snoopy dance.
Lucy
Charlie Brown, by a country mile. Lucy is also a great character, and the dynamic between the two of them made for some great strips.
It was vindicating, but not surprising, when the biography that came out after Schulz’ death provided pretty good evidence that Lucy was based on Schulz’ first wife, and not (as Schulz claimed) their ‘fussbudget’ daughter.
Anyone who doesn’t say Linus is trolling.
I vote for the cute little red-haired girl.
I would buy Snoopy a root beer any day.
Lucy. She’s not the most likeable, but she’s definitely the most interesting.
Pig Pen
When I was a kid, I got confused when people referred to that strip as “Peanuts”, because obviously, it was called “Snoopy”. He just totally stole the show.
Am I allowed to change my vote to the kite-eating tree? Or the Red Baron?
I had difficulty choosing between 5 and Franklin. The two easy ones to get people on if they’re not longtime fans. IME people will immediately assume that Franklin is pigpen.
Ha! Yikes! ![]()
Peppermint Patty I loved how she always got confused by simple things. For a long time she thought Snoopy was a kid with a big nose. She got a D- on her tests.
I loved Peppermint Patty.
I almost stopped reading Peanuts when Schultz started focusing too much on Snoopy and Woodstock. That dog almost took over the comic.
