Favorite Simpsons Episodes?

since we love the simpsons so much, what are your favorite episdoes? seasons?

what about least favorite episodes?

i forgot to list my own:

April Fools - where Homer gets into a coma
New York - where homer recovers his booted car

Definitely the Stonecutters episode.

Every time they start talking about the Masons and the Illuminati over at the LBMB, I get the urge to pipe in with, “Who controls the British Crown? Who keeps the metric system down? We do! We do!”

Dr. J

My favorite episode: When Bart goes to work at the Legitimate Businessmans club for Fat Tony.
Alternate: When Bart sells his soul.

Least favorite: Marge’s Chanel suit.

I love all the Halloween episodes. Those are so funny :D.

[/hijack] Is it just me or has the series steadily declined from being witty and funny to just being stupid and not so funny?[end hijack]

Hands down the episode where Marge joins the local theatre troupe to do “Streetcar! The Musical.” The added subplot of Maggie being put in Ayn Rand Daycare cracked me up (plus all the “Great Escape” and Hitchcock references).

Any time they do musical stuff it kills me.

Esprix

Favorite: the one where Lisa falls in love with the substitutue, or the one with John Waters as the gay guy. I love the “Streetcar!” episode, too, but only after I read the play.

Least Favorite: the George Bush episode–the worst part is, it started off so well, what with Disco Stu and the Mary Worth telephone in the attic. . . what happened?

Dude! I know where your sig’s from! Music Man! School play! Charlie Cowell, anvil salesman extrodinaire.
With that said, I’ll now go into my favorite episode: Frank “Grimey” Grimes. Terrible, terrible ending (in morale terms- it was hilarious) but really hilarious…especially Bart’s factory, or specifically when it collapses and literally all of the rats go into Moe’s, and then moe yells “Ok everybody, tuck your pants into your socks.” Priceless…

“This Little Wiggy”; the one where Ralph Wiggum is friends with a reluctant Bart. “This is the rock where I saw the leprecaun. He tells me to burn things.”

Deep Space Homer, Bart’s Elephant, The Mysterious Voyage of Homer and 2 Dozen and 1 Greyhounds.

Damn, Espirix got there first. You’re right! Without a doubt the “Streetcar” episode. Best ever!

The one with Sideshow Bob being reunited with his brother Cecil was also a gem.

Definitely the Treehouse of Horror Halloween episodes, as they can take the storylines into such weird areas, but I think my favourite “regular” episodes are those that centre around Monty Burns or Krusty. Burns’ anachronistic terminology (“Which is the velocitator and the decelleratrix?”) and Krusty’s Jewish/Vaudeville/50s showbiz things kill me (“Oh yeah! I slaughtered the Special Olympics!”).

Some outstanding episodes for me are:

"22 Short Films About Springfield," (remember the Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel theme song?);

"A Star is Burns," (“Listen, Spielbergo, Schindler and I are like peas in a pod: we’re both factory owners, we both made shells for the Nazis, but mine worked, dammit! Now go out there and win me that festival!”);

"Colonel Homer," (“Country music sucks. All it does is take precious air space away from shock DJ’s, whose cruelty and profanity amuse us all.”)

and “El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Homer,” (Hibbert: “By all medical logic, steam should be shooting out of his ears!” Krusty: “His ears, if we’re lucky!”)

These episodes just don’t quit:

1)Homer is the union president/Lisa gets braces

2)Homer in space

3)Sideshow Bob Cape Fear

4)Springfield Files

5)Homer is the monorail conductor

6)Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy

7)Homer has a gun

8)Milhouse’s parents divorce

9)Who Shot Mr. Burns Pt. 2

10)Bart joins the Junior Campers

(No particular order except that in which I thought of them)

the one where homer battles george bush.
my political beliefs had nothing to do with that.

Put me down for the one where Niles from the Fraser show tried to blow up a dam to disguise shoddy construction. Bart’s fall down the face of the dam is a real heart-stopper. I had to wipe my eyes.
