Now you’ve done it. You’re getting a visit from The King.
I believe Salerno made Jingles, the traditional Christmas store bought cookie in my family for decades. Now they are called Santa’s Favorites and are made by Lance. Very popular in the Chicago area.
Jack n The Box ham and turkey melts. I used to eat two in one sitting.
Fletcher’s corn dogs. They’d dip the frank in the corn batter right there in front of you and fry it up. And their homemade lemonade was divine.
I sure would love to find Corn-Quistos again. I’ve seen similar looking snacks (Combos is one), but nothing is as delicious as the original salty, spicy, crunchy, nutrition-free Corn-Quistos.
I can buy Sky Bars at every corner store & supermarket. I bought one on impulse last night in the checkout line. The price at Vermont Country Store is (understandably but still!) way too high. I can mail you some instead!
I was just going to say the same thing. Maybe it’s regional?
In my case it’s because I live in the home area of the New England Candy Company (recently of Cambridge, now of Revere). So Necco products are everywhere. I also bought a handful of Squirrel Nut Zippers last night from the pick-a-mix station.
OMG, Seven Up. What was your favorite part? Mine was Jelly, with Coconut second. Yum.
Thanks jrsone
Cherry and jelly.
O’boisies were good chips.
Keebler, Nabisco, or somebody like that used to make Pop-Tart like pastries that were better than Pop-Tarts.
Those Pop-Tart Stick things were pretty good.
Cheetos Paws
PB Crisps
Squeez-A-Snak. You just reanimated some long-dormant neurons in my head.
My usual lament in these threads is Cuban Lunch. Still miss those.
Yes. We almost aleays got Hydrox when I was little. Seeing Oreos in my lunch was a disappointment.
I’m going up to Rockford in the next week or so. I will have to see if they are that far north.
- Rice Krispies Treats Cereal
- Frosted Mini Chex
Probably the two sweetest cereals I’ve ever eaten. I know the first is still in production in certain areas, but it sucks not finding them on the east coast anymore
Pizza Hut once had a trial promotional pizza called “Smoke House”, which was somewhat a meat lover’s but had more delectable toppings like diced peppered ham and summer sausage. I just knew that one would stick, but it hasn’t been back once in the last 20 years. The thought of it still makes me tingle in my special place.

I remember when generics brands were still big, the brands in the white bag with big black letters. I used to get these Bar-B-Q Corn chips…they were a deep red color at a Giant Eagle grocery store. They stopped selling them eventually, haven’t seen generics in a long time. Those were my favorite, I’d love to have those again.
Nitpick: Locations correct. NECCO stands for New England Confectionery Company
That was very good, and if you are in the neighborhood, it looks like you can still get a version of it in Australia. In the mid 80’s right as I began my teenage dating career, Pizza Hut also had a product called Priazzo. I truly miss that stuff.
