Favorite snack foods/fast foods/drinks/any kind of foods that they do not make any more...

Generics are still around. Sort of.

Yes! Orange tube, right? My favorite was the nacho, or Mexican, whatever it was called. A tube of that and a box of whole wheat saltines was often lunch.

Jello Pudding Pops. Taste of my childhood, and if I close my eyes and center myself, I can conjure up their taste and feel…

Tostitos Lime and Chili flavor.

The original Nabisco Vegetable Thins. They were greasy and vinegar-y crackers shaped like celery, onions, tomatoes and peppers. Man, those were the best!

Their current version is garbage compared to those.

The only one I really miss that I haven’t seen mentioned is the original Marathon bar.

Yes, I already know about the Curly Wurly.

Old Dutch Lime flavoured Salsa spoons. They were just tortilla chips with a unique shape but they had the best and most generous lime coating of any lime torilla chip I’ve found. Now they’re gone and I’m sad :frowning:

Yeah, I’ve tried just about every kind of barbecue corn chip brand and have come pretty close, but nothing exact.

No problem!

I forgot Cheetos Paws. The perfect amount of cheese and crunch. I miss those too.

Another vote for Carnation breakfast bars and Space Sticks, though I can totally remember the taste of the former and am sure I would still like it while I feel like the latter would probably seem kind of gross today. I feel like my longing is 90% nostalgia and 10% mistaken memory of the actual taste.

Does anyone remember American Fries? Not sure if they were national but they came out (I’m assuming) in 1976 and were baked potato snacks shaped like French fries. They must have been a promotional limited time product as they seem to have just disappeared one day. Today there are similar potato snacks, though I haven’t tried any of them. Seems they’d just pale in comparison.

Also, people are mentioning the Seven Up bar. I feel like I remember that name but I thought it was a package of sweet tart like candy with different soda pop flavors(maybe that’s why I’m thinking of 7-Up?) ?

Oh damn! I knew that. :smack: Thanks for the fix.

Root Beer Kool Aid. I’m still addicted, 40 years later.

Nabisco Heyday Bars.

Are there any Roy Rogers left? The last one I know about was at one of the road stops on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, and (a) even that was years ago, and (b) for all I know, the sign was old, and it was now actually something else.

As for Hardee’s merging with another company, I am aware of the Carl’s Jr - Hardee’s merger, but don’t remember anything involving Roy Rogers.

Wiat I miss: Peter Paul Peanut Butter (originally called “No Jelly”) bars.

Plenty of them around here. I liked the other flavor of Fritos Twists they had that was not Honey BBQ. Can’t remember what that flavor was though.

There are still 49 of them open.

Bottle Caps. I can get those at the local Walmart.

They had Jalepeno Cheddar and Cheddar Ranch

omnomnom the original ones WERE good! There was some blue cheese flavored triangle cracker too thats long been d/c’d IIRC. Was teh noms.

Jell-O chocolate pudding pops, Crystal Pepsi, and Wendy’s broccoli and cheese potato.

Thanks. I’m not sure, but I think it was the Cheddar Ranch I liked and I’m not usually a fan of ranch.
