Favorite song right now?

’LiZa JaNe:
There is a version of “Two Step 'Round the Christmas Tree”, performed by Michael Martin Murphy, on the CD “Country Christmas” (Warner Special Products.)

Current favorite: Smooth by Santana
All-time favorite: Rakim by DCD

MadPoet, Falcon - wow! two DCD fans. Maybe we should form the DCD-SDMB fan club!

And speaking of Santana, in our Belly Dance show yesterday, we had two people perform to Santana songs, one from the new album and one to ‘Olle como va’ Plus Super-Freak and Shake your bon-bon by Ricky Martin.

My favorites change all the time, so I don’t know about the “all time” category. But right now Santana’s album is my favorite.

I don’t have an evil side. Just a really, really apathetic one.

Sexx Laws by Beck

If you can’t convince them, confuse them.
Harry S. Truman

“You’re With Stupid Now,” Aimee Mann
or maybe
“Stolen Car,” Beth Orton

I can’t decide.

…but when you get blue, and you’ve lost all your dreams, there’s nothing like a campfire and a can of beans!

Aimee Mann left “Til Tuesday”? Next you’ll be telling me that Patty Smyth is on her own!

I have three:
1000 Oceans–Tori Amos
Learn to Fly–Foo Fighters
and the new song by Beck that sounds 60s-ish (I’m so out of it with song titles). He performed it on SNL a couple of weeks ago. GREAT song. That guy is a genius!

And that’s just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Oh, do they still play music these days? I hadn’t noticed, I don’t pay much attention.

-PIGEONMAN-
Hero For A New Millennium!

The Legend Of PigeonMan - updates every Wed & Sat. If I can be bothered.

Byz!!!

A fellow Toadies fan!! I thought I was the last one!

Love that album…I write all my papers for school to it. It’s on my list of all-time greatest.

Getting into Zep right now, ever since I got the Remasters last week, so I’d have to go for Houses of the Holy or Good Times, Bad Times right now.

Right now- Dam that River, Alice in Chains
Of all time- Tie between Unforgiven, and Of Wolf and Man, Metallica

I’m going with “I’ve Got It, But It Don’t Do Me No Good,” as sung by Annette Hanshaw and Her Red-Heads.

Right up there with The Happiness Boys’ “She Knows Her Onions” and Frank Crumit’s “I Married the Bootlegger’s Daughter.”

keystream – frankly, I had never heard of them until very recently. That song popped up at a MOST wonderful moment and it is now forever stuck in my head, attached to that incredible memory! Oh, yes, I Burn…

I’ve also gotten back in touch with “Grace Under Pressure” by RUSH… same reason.

Best!

Girlfriend by Matthew Sweet

Because I am listening to it and it is my fave of all time.

“Brand New Day” by Sting… I haven’t heard a Sting song on the radio in years.

“Predictable, really I suppose. It was an act of purest optimism to have posed the question in the first place.” --John Cleese

The Waltzes nos. 1 and 2 on Elliot Smith’s last album, followed by 'Schizophrenia" by Sonic Youth (on Sister), followed temporarily by a cover of Kraftwerk’s Neonlicht done by some Slovenian band named Mitja V.5. REM’s Chonictown album went down the list lately due to fatigue.

“Just My Imagination (Runnin’ Away With Me)” – The Temptations

Jimmy Buffett’s “Smart Woman in a Real Short Skirt” - always makes me want to laugh/dance: first line - “Bimbo limbo, is where I’ve been…”

“Short Dick Man.”

It’s a long way to heaven, but only three short steps to hell.
